Feminism is not cancer by the way csncer is something very different. These boards are now increasingly so far from the boards I joined that maybe its not worth it any more Oh here we go...as soon as they get pushback for their views the threats to leave....apparently the indignation can only go the way you agree with. I'm fine with you airing your views and we have plenty of lefty posters here now who aren't snowflakes. But if you can't take the heat... I hear the bbs is very friendly to feminism and bans those who transgress its low level 'tolerance'. You might find its lefty demeanour and attack on anything remotely male more to your liking,....just turn far left to find it.

It's obvious and only a disingenuous person would try to claim otherwise. The fact that this hasn't happened to the girl guides when they do the same activities leads to the same logical conclusion.

Feminism is cancer. I missed this when it happened but now I have two small boys and I saw that someone mentioned the 'girl guides'. So I was decided to look at the boy scout's website for something for them to do in a few years. Guess what I find? They have dropped the boy from the hundred year old 'boy scouts' and girls can join. However, when you look at the organisation 'girl guides', which was conceived as the same type of organisation a year later but just for girls....guess what. No name drop and the Boys can't join. They should have left it alone. There is nothing wrong with the sexes having their personal spaces in their formative years. But no, it has to be one rule for the feminists and another for the males.
Clearly news travels quite slowly to Cambridgeshire. The Boy Scouts became the Scouts in 1967. This was 9 years before girls were allowed to join the senior section (the Venture Scouts) and 24 years before girls were allowed to join the more junior sections (the Scouts and the Cubs). The Girl Guides was formed because the Boy Scouts rejected the idea of girls joining. The older readers of this forum will no doubt recall the ‘Crystal Palace Rally’ of 1910, which invited all fledgling scout groups to gather. Well a certain number of ‘Girl Scout’ groups turned up; much to the horror of the male majority. Hence Lady Baden-Powell ultimately founded the Guide movement. As a football fan, I appreciate the value of a good grudge, so if I ran the Guides, I too would say “stuff you” to the idea of boys joining. For the record, I had 10 great years as a Cub a Scout and a Venture Scout, and whereas for most of that time I was desperate to be ‘involved’ with girls, I wouldn’t have wanted them to be members of those groups. Girls being there would have changed the whole dynamic, in numerous ways I can think of, so I’m glad that the change didn’t happen in my time.

The forum has (possibly inevitably?) drifted away from football and all too often immerses itself in long tireless and often person rants about a player (beyond the football,) or by folks bursting with often right wing indignation sourced from such luminaries as Tommy Robinson or such independant sources as the Daily Mail. I did wonder how long it eould take before I was branded a 'snowflake,' the right wing insult of choice. You did not disappoint. Not scared of debate. Far from it. Have spent my whole life debating very publically as a senior trade unionist (and before the spluttering starts one NOT affiliated to any political party,) and in my day job with politicians of every hue. Maybe that makes me jaded, I want to use a forum for a bit of light relief, maybe it's because I enjoyed proper debate as opposed to the ill informed half thought out ramblings of some on here (interesting this is not a comment on some who may take offence as whilst I don't agree with views they will at least debate and agree to disagree.) It was more a comment on dome threads and as it all good break ups maybe its not you its me.

There are an avalanche of men who won't comment on the destruction and attack on simple male only activities, of which scouting was one. From what I know what happened in the sixties only related to starting groups and didn't carry onto the teenage years which is the main focus. Masculinity has been under attack for decades and once the tide inevitably changes future generations with the benefit of recorded technology will at least be able to see who complained and didn't. I'll state it again. The girl guides do all the same activities and unless there was no group in a particular area there was never a need for this. The girl guides resisted all attempts to change and have ignored all complaints. I have no issues with them having done that as I see the point of at least some separation of the genders during their formative years.

What are you talking about? This is the politics and news section of a football forum. We don't talk about football in here. This is precisely where such debates are meant to occur. Most of what you've said has been complaining about the level of discourse instead of actually partaking in the discussion itself. Nothing is stopping you from using these boards for light relief. Perhaps you would also allow people to also use it for combative political and social discussion.
