So no....actually, when it comes to prosecution and chasing people out....The Jews are just the same as their neighbours. You just never got to see it in your lifetime and on TV. Oh and they are just the same now. Banning Jewish passports and restricting non Muslims from reaching high status. Being a non Muslim in these countries, outside of tourist areas, is not very safe long term. Edited by Stirlingsays (07 Jun 2018 10.24am)

I am not going to defend Israel or Hamas and ultimately it is a matter for Argentina. However I will make some points: 1. Were the Argentinian FA told to cancel by their government? If so that is political interference which is against FIFA rules. 2. How many dodgy countries has Argentina played in the last few years (I don't know the answer but I bet there will few nasty regimes)so why didn't they cancel them? If this was a one off qualifying game for the World Cup would they have refused to play it? 3. Sport is a useful tool for the hypocrites. Look at the sports boycott over South Africa. People were rightly incensed at that regime, meanwhile other African countries were committing genocide and mass murder. Some of the loudest critics of Apartheid were pretty despicable regimes themselves but were allowed to take the moral high ground. One last thing, why is there no boycott of Russia. They have invaded and annexed part of Ukraine shot down a civilian aeroplane and are generally a regime run for the benefit of criminals.
One more point |

Edited by Penge Eagle (07 Jun 2018 10.52am) To our credit at least the UK voted for this measure a modest proposal to give the Palestinians some protection. Every other country did likewise apart from the USA who walked out rather than hear the truth.

These push-backs aren't endorsements of what's happening in that part of the world. It's a struggle for survival and it isn't pretty nor fair. The peace makers lost in Clinton's era. I think the creation of Israel was an injustice. A scrambled solution inspired by guilt forced onto an innocent party. However, once you create it, you either accept it or you go to war and see how the chips fall. Compared to their enemies, I'd support Israel everytime....but it's not done with clean hands. It's a sh1t sandwich. The South African point is a salient one.....Look at what the controlling government is doing to the white minority there. Yet silence from the left. I'm still waiting for Peter Gabriel to write a song for them. Edited by Stirlingsays (07 Jun 2018 11.50am)

If in the US or UK we had mass protests, and those protesters were throwing rocks and flare and molotofs, and then the US/UK military/police sniped hundreds of them from afar, would that be acceptable ? I dont think so, so why is most of the world turning a blind eye to this ? I am sure there are hardcore Hamas supporters on the borders inciting the violence, but its your average Palestinian, protecting to get back those things they value, that are being shot dead.

Hundreds??? The IDF warned them to stay away from the border, so why not protest in good distance? Most of the people killed were Hamas terrorists trying to breach the border. The 'protesters' were regular people paid by Hamas to cause disruption at the border and to be used as human shields. Hamas does this a lot to get sympathy from the rest of the world and you've fallen for its propaganda.

The resolution agreed by all those countries to give the palestinians some measure of protection at the UN was after seeing and hearing the evidence, that's what the UN does, that is what it is for. Your endless reiteration is the only propaganda here.
