Ever heard of Alex Ferguson?

Indeed. I think I mentioned that the Premiership was the Prime Ministers job. Maybe you missed that bit?

Just as you missed the bit where the FA website confirmed that the “first tier” of English football was for a number of years called “the Premiership” and not “the Premier League”, perhaps.

The above is fact. “Premiership” is a term used to describe a leadership role, such as the Prime Minister’s; it isn’t the name af the role itself. Do you not understand this?

You clearly have a problem with admitting you are wrong, pal.

The man who managed the last Scottish side to win a major European Trophy beating Bayern Munich and Real Madrid on the way.
If you are comparing Hopkins coming second the Scottish League 2 to his achievements, you confirm my point of people taking leave of their senses.

Absolutely! Call it the PL for quickness if typing by all means. But to call it the EPL in spoken word deserves to get you a beat down. We know it’s English for starters. It’s yank ESPN anchors and the Asian TV networks that started all that nonsense. I heard it when living overseas and it riled me then. And now you get prats over here in England saying it.

Yeah, but there was the small matter of Aberdeen (and Scotland) before the Premier League.

People seem to forget that Sir Alex was saved by Mark Hughes's goal in the last ten minutes at the 1990 Cup Final. If Utd had lost that game the tin tack awaited him.

However he did go on to become a great Manager for Utd but it was a close call for him.

When did a good Manager last come from Scotland leagues, since the Premier started?
