Yes, that change against Stoke confused me somewhat as I was sure AWB would be on. As WBA don't really use pacey wingers though it might be the right shout.

It is tragic that we have to have a win-at-all-costs attitude to the game but no real alternative means for fringe players -- especially our own prospects -- to play the kinds of games they need to play.

You do tend to think what the f*** is the point in having a youth team?

Yes, give him 90 mins. Would do him a world of good to get his first goal and the monkey off his back. Would love to see how he performs in his natural position with some delivery from the wings.

WBA have been on great form but now their fate has been sealed, I’d expect them to be pretty flat and there for the taking.

AWB to start too. He needs game time to develop.

Depending on the score line, get Jules out for the last 10 mins

I quite like the idea of reserve teams playing in the main leagues in this respect, as practised in some euro leagues. They get competitive game time and we can see how they perform against other league teams. It happens at all levels apart from the professional leagues in the UK. At the moment we loan players out to lower league teams so individually they are going through the same process but don't stay together as a team. Barcelona B currently play in the Segunda division in Spain coming up against teams like Osasuna, Zaragoza and Granada. I'm not quite sure though how the movement of players between the B team and first team actually works and of course the whole shebang has to be funded. Palace Reserves vs Accrington Stanley anyone?

Since match has no real significance ie WBA are relegated. I wonder if it is an opportunity to blood some youngsters and lets see what they can do. If the worst happens and they don't perform and we lose is that the greatest tragedy? Of course it would be nice to get a top 10 finish but it is so rare to get this sort of opportunity I would like to see 2 or 3 get a premiership debut.

Depends on results tonight. Newcastle and Leicester lose and we have a really good chance for 10th and an outside chance for 9th. This is important. Best team to play.

No room for sentiment in my eyes. We should approach this game with the intention of winning it.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Absolutely-and as it has been mentioned already this is not just an end of season kickabout it still has serious financial implications attached to it.
In terms of finishing position and payouts.
I am sure RH will put out the same team (with the exception of Joel Ward) and go for the win.
Let's hope all of our players have been very well coached and drilled this week in set piece defending, the physicality required and the dark arts employed by West Brom in the penalty box!

Well ninth is f***ed because Arse went to a cocktail party instead of a football match, but Toon lost so in the worst case we just have to win by one more goal than they do. Or lose by one goal less.

They've got Chelsea at home, and tonight Chelsea were complete and total f***ing s***e with knobs, bells, whistles and flags on.

Therefore we need to nail this.

No significance, of course it has, if we loose and clubs below us win it would cost us millions because or league place. could mean the difference of signing a top player or an average player, think things though a bit before making these comments

and of course match the results of the 3 below us who could realistically overtake both us and Newcastle.
