They have an Amendment to the Bill or Rights, but it is not as all encompassing as some think.

Yep, it only covers state action. That's why we are recently concerned over freedom limiting actions by corporations and activists getting people fired by companies for comments they don't like.

"we"?

I would be more worried over copyright rules in the US. There are companies who reckon they own at least 80% of your physical being, let alone the ability to express an opinion.

We, as in those who believe in free speech as called for.....ie the free speech we had before New Labour fecked it up and the Tories accepted and maintained.

Not sure what you are referring to with copyright.

I suspect that will be challenged.

I wonder if the individual involved were medically proved as schizophrenic.
Could any legal action stick if they were to make any comment about race, sex etc.
That would test our legal system.
I only ask as just watched gollam in Lord of the rings.

Let's hope that Dank's appeal on his conviction causes some reflection amongst those who actually care about principles of freedom within the political parties.

Care for their own existence me thinks.

Only when it can generate some publicity to their end game.

I never said Robinson when I spoke about hate speech convictions as I was talking about the law in general. Robinson has got convictions for assault and fraud as it happens but not for anything he said politically.

I stand by my comment that the far right were the people behind the rally. They were trying to smuggle in their odious views under the cover of something we all want i.e. free speech. However, what they really want is to be able to spout their message of hate for minorities with impunity.

You simply don't know what you talk about. He was not convicted by a jury! Why don't you even know the basic facts of something you pronounce on?

I bet you didn't watch the video. Stop being ignorant.

And yes, free speech does mean you can be hostile to whomever you like.

I didn't refer to Robinson. You have twice in separate posts. He was there and so was Milo and so were lots of others with different perspectives but united on this issue. He obviously figures highly in your thinking. He is certainly anti Islamic, though I don't think you have ever listened to him and actually know his politics beyond that......because for you he's far right and that makes him a racist. Nuance out the window.

I don't know you but your postings here appear typical of the far left. You mislabel people and when people pull you up and show you that you're incorrect.....you just metaphorically stick your hands over your ears and carry on. Well, that's your free speech right.

Still, I'm going to criticise you because your views are more about feelings than actual facts.

I presented videos showing you the real far right.....Yet you just carry on...don't comment and still describe the people at the rally as far right.

Dankula's right when he mentions the left in his speech. They have abandoned free speech in favour of political correctness. You should watch it.
