Precisely the point - he's not there primarily to score but his contribution to team has been immense. Kante is a shoe-in for POTY at Chelsea but has only (gasp!!) 1 goal & 1 assist - he must be toilet then I suppose........... I never said that. Others have brought up Milivojevic's goals and assist contribution. I didn't say it's what makes a good defensive midfielder. Let's talk his defensive midfielder contribution if you'd like. His recoveries, his speed. And his set pieces

His contribution as a defensive midfielder has been immense, personally if you carried on playing this role as he has I would not give a flying fig if he didn't score another goal!! Nothing wrong with his set pieces as far as I can see.

So why bring into discussion his goals and assist if we're talking about his contribution as a defensive midfielder?? )) I was just answering to that question. I've given reasons why he hasn't had a good season: taking set pieces without eficiency, I can also show you goals where he was at fault. Yes, he had some solid matches too. But player POTY? Come on.... I'm giving you solid facts, you're giving me personal opinions. Answer me this: was Milivojevic a good set piece taker this entire year?? Edited by mattteo (01 May 2018 10.06am) Think we have scored quite a few goals resulting from his corners

All I remember is the Huddersfield goal which resulted from a decent corner of his: [Link] After many attempts all season. When Townsend took a corner one time against Arsenal, it resulted in a goal by Tomkins: [Link]

Milivojevic?????????? Took set pieces all year, didn't hit a single assist (edit: had one assist in the 34th matchday against Brighton, with only 4 matches to go until the end of the season, but it wasn't one of his set pieces). Makes you wonder why does he take set pieces actually? Ok, he scored 1 very nice goal from a free kick and is good from the penalty spot (7 of his 10 goals were from the penalty spot) but he couldn't cross for a goal an entire season despite taking set pieces!! Guilty at plenty of goals (the one in the 90th minute against Man United easily comes to mind, but there were others too). It's like fans here have a fascination with Milivojevic. Decent player but in no way player of the season. Not even a great season if you ask me, just a mediocre one. Undoubtedly Zaha, Townsend, Tomkins, PVA, McArthur have kept this team up and deserve it a lot more. Edited by mattteo (01 May 2018 10.00am) Townsend ???? His been consistently solid but not had a season that should be him mentioned anywhere near player of the season, zaha has by far been our best player and milo has had a better season than Townsend

RLC for young player of the year. Lovely to see AWB making the step up to the first team but difficult to give it to him after only six appearances. Wilf for player of the year. I would have gone for Wayne but he has no goals and no assists

That said, Tomkins just shaves it for me with Luka a very close second. Youth player a no-brainer. The only football he sees is an animation on a computer screen; he badly needs to get out of his bedroom at his mum's and find some real friends.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

You're turning this into a personal agenda you have against me instead of answering the points made by the discussion. I'd really, really like to punch your stupid ass face in real life, to see if you'd still have the balls to talk like that
