It should be obvious as to the crux of this but if you’re struggling to understand, let me put it another way. Sam doesn’t give two hoots that he left Palace. He didn’t leave to spend more time with his family, he fell out with Parish in the meeting to discuss plans for the forthcoming season. He did it with us, he did it the previous year at Sunderland and he’ll do it again at Everton. He doesn’t like the demands of 24/7 management in football any more. He said so when he left us in May last year. He is happier having the close season ‘off’ and picking up the pieces at a struggling PL team mid way through the season. His motivation isn’t the size of the so called club, it’s the size of the remuneration, and thus back to my original point that I don’t believe he’ll be particularly bothered about leaving Everton in the circumstances. He was reported to have collected a £2 Million bonus for keeping us up. On top of his Salary! It’s a win win for Sam, without all the aggro. He’d take over at Billericay if the package were worth more to him than managing (insert name of Premier League team here). And the Everton fans know it! Hence the lack of respect, lack of confidence in him and a significant amount of animosity shown towards him, Edited by Phil’s Barber (02 May 2018 8.08pm)

Did he really? That is very interesting. I wonder exactly how much he did pay us back and what Everton offered him as compensation for that clause. Edited by Phil’s Barber (02 May 2018 9.45pm)

Edited by Phil’s Barber (02 May 2018 9.45pm) He really did. All £2m, whether he paid it or Everton reimbursed him for it I, and probably the club, couldn't care less.

Everton were always going to get out of the s*** with any decent manager and those players so when they took Allardyce that stopped him from going to someone like Stoke or West Brom who might have avoided relegation with a manager like him. They both ended up appointing muppets instead. And Allardyce was bound to re-enter the fray somewhere eventually. Edited by chateauferret (03 May 2018 2.16am)

I always assume that when someone throws in the "if you’re struggling to understand" insult they have basically lost the argument and have to resort to insults instead. What I do understand is that your blind hatred of the man over rules "facts" and you are just making it up as you go along. Whatever the real reasons for Sam leaving us I will always be grateful to him for saving us from relegation

Sam and Parish didn't "fall out" in the meeting; he went in and the first thing he said was that he needed to leave and Parish was gobsmacked. Now it's possible of course that the two of them were telling a white lie about that but there's no evidence whatsoever. Allardyce is an expert in avoiding relegation. WHen he was appoointed, Parish said, "There's nobody better at making sure a club doesn't go down". That's the specialism he brings and the price he charges for it is pretty fair given the financial damage relegation causes. Now are you saying he left because he "doesn't like the demands of 24/7 management" any more or that he "fell out with Parish in the meeting"? You can't have it both ways.

Any road....I’m putting my trust in Sam to guide his team to victory over Southampton on Saturday. I can’t see him letting Everton ease up, given the flak he is taking at the moment.
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

Even after spending vast sums of money Everton struggled. But its worse because they are always in the shadow of Liverpool. Koemans was glad to see the back of them and I think BS won't be bothered either.

We were 17th when he joined us and we lost 4 of his first 5 games in charge. There was also that 4-0 debacle at home to Sunderland. In the end we finished in 14th place.A masterful appointment by Parish and well done to 'Big Sam'.

He clearly was not happy with SP he didn't want another relegation battle which again he said this but again we see SP was not willing to give £ so he walked same case with TP clear pattern but both are pro so they stated it was mutual The other thing before Sam walked he even said he wasn't happy about plans being put in place without him like that pre season setup which he was no happy about.
