Has the ability to do something outrageous but way to inconsistent for me.

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

There is an Everton forum called Grand Old Team and they have a thread on him there.

The general consensus is that he is quite possibly their worst ever signing. Huge transfer fee, huge wages and no end product.

I miss Yannick and Wilf on the wings but putting feelings to one side, we absolutely pulled their trousers down on the transfer, as his best Yannick is a very fast player with a bit of very inconsistent skill but almost zero end product. Now this injury seems to have robbed him of his explosive pace, he can no longer kick the ball past the defender and speed round him (which is always what he was best at, not the stupid tricks).

Pretty much all players are confidence players. In my opinion, wingers more so than any other position. If you attempt to take on a full back regularly and keep failing, the crowd will run out of patience which will sap confidence. Palace fans are generally more forgiving than other teams in that respect.

In a similar way to Wilf, the fans loved him whilst he was here. That’s why he performed so well. £27m was a great deal for us at the time so we had to take it. The injury seems to have set him back a little. I believe once he’s got his mojo back, which he probably would at Palace, he would be an excellent player for us again. He’s got a few seasons left in him.

Everton would have to accept a hit as he’s not worth anywhere near £27m at the moment. If we could get him for about £8m he’d be well worth a punt for us. It’s been shown this season that 3 wingers is not enough. I’d love to see him back.

I’d have him back in a heartbeat. He isn’t that Old and can easily come back to form, he is style of play would be perfect with Wilf and RLC if we can keep him. That’s three players that can drag the team forward with the ball when under pressure.

once he has his confidence back he will be the same player he was which terrified defenders, better than wilf when we sold him, not now, but teams cant put three defenders on him and wilf, also I think he has a good relationship with freedman, director of recruitment, I would still pay 15million for him

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

I'm not sure he's the player he was before the injury. It could be confidence, or he's not able to get back to his best.

Either way if it was 10m or less I'd be happy to see him back.

I love the Yala grin!

Between 10-12 million I would take him back. I think he is a little like Zaha, he needs to be loved and the main focus in a team. The way Everton play will never suit him, so need to get in early before a new manager gets in and changes the system.

Quick counter attack team like us, him and Zaha on wings and we could be a real force with a decent striker up top too.

We need a more balanced squad and Bolasie would give us that.

I think he would love to come back too...

Yes, he certainly has a great goal scoring record, i bet he could double Benteke's goals for this season

I would take him back in a heartbeat, offer 18m they would prob accept! Imagine wilf, yannick, benteke and Townsend in attack. The thought of that gives me a semi!

I loved Yala - always played with a smile and occasionally his tricks would come off. But when I heard they were offering £27m I nearly offered Parish to drive him up there myself.

I'm not convinced bringing him back is a good idea. If you're 28, moving back to your small old club who regularly battle relegation could be demotivating.

Also he was very inconsistent but had started to perform more regularly as he pushed for his move. Is he going to get back to that level? He wasn't there for very long. I mean even before his injury I heard murmurs of discontent from their fans.

And even if he was cheap (what's cheap?) to buy, he's on bigger wages. I'd rather gamble on one of Matteo's suggestions. Someone younger, cheaper and with something to prove.

Remove Benteke from that lineup and I agree. He needs to go.
