These posts get worse and worse.

Be glad when this season is over with all the b*****ks that is posted on this forum.

I couldn’t agree more, I’d even go one step further and say I can’t wait until we’re out of this league and half the new found morons disappear from the HOL.

Yeah that'll be great. Completely scupper all plans we have.

So when we get chances like the 2 he had on Saturday, he s got to take at least 1....... or the penalty against Bournemouth at home.
Knowing that we paid £26 million for a striker and he s got 2 goals, all season, frankly its not good enough.

Actually we're not too bad at creating chances. Putting them away is the difficult bit. Compare with say Huddersfield, who took 80 minutes to get the ball to trickle into Hennesey's arms so that they could call it a shot on target.

Football is a game of opinions. In my opinion the criticism of Benteke is sadly a reflection of how little people get the game.

For our formation to work we need a big man up top. Benteke is a very good target man. He wins most of his aerial duals and gives oppposition central defenders a head ache all afternoon.

Now, the reality is he is having a terrible season in terms of converting (the very few chances) presented to him during a game. He's also suffered from the fact that there has been little competition this season for his place. Trust me, if we still had Frazier Campbell coming on for cameos you'd truly appreciate his value.

Will Benteke come good again? I actually think he will. It's time to get behind him. This lust for a headless chicken to be running about up top 'putting a shift in' is nuts. There's a reason Calvin Andrew plays at Rochdale.

Worth noting too that out of the top ten leading goal scorers only one (Jamie Vardy) plays in a team outside the top six. This proves that chances are at a premium for teams like ours. Rather than dig the bloke out we should get behind him.

It is not the creation of chances as much as the clown on the end of them. We should get behind him, push him right out the door; where he should have gone after the Bournemouth debacle.

Mmm... No he doesn't. It was a stroll in the park for Van Dijk on Saturday dealing with Benteke and it has been for many centre halves who have come up against him this season.
He's actually very easy to mark. Apart from some success in the air Benteke is slow, lethargic, has very limited reactions, has a poor first touch, can't run well with the ball at his feet and isn't overly physical for a big man either.

I would say though that SP has to take some blame for this to. It might sound strange but this is what happens when you don't invest properly and go through a whole season with one striker giving him no competition.

If he has nobody to keep him on his toes and give him an incentive to better himself then he will become lazy and lethargic and play like he doesn't give a s*** because he knows he will still get picked the following Saturday.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Benteke has had 22 good chances infront of goal and scored 2 of them. My 84 year old mum would have done better and she can hardly run.

I'm not sure about that. Granted he should have scored more goals than he has but if he is that easy to mark why does he win so many aerial duels and how did he get into the position from which he missed two opportunities? If he has had 22 great opportunities this season he has been in the position to take them. Obviously his confidence is pretty low at the moment and his goal tally is poor but that is not necessarily a reflection of the totality of the rest of his game?

He should have scored more goals absolutely no doubt about it. That's his obvious fault but either all our crosses are consistently crap (probably) or he's still half a yard off the pace (possibly).

Is that not like saying that Hennessey is poor at stopping the ball going in the goal, but his kicking is ok ?

A number 9s job is to score goals. Klinsmann, muller , Lineker scored loads of goals and did little else.
