My view on this has been well documented and the question has nothing to do with the subject matter of this thread.

A debate is not a static instrument, it's organic.

At the end of the day there will be referees at the World Cup who are not of the standard of the likes of Clattenburg,Atkinson,Oliver etc etc

Thank God for that.

Its not just this weeend, I'm my opinion this season has been the worst I can remember for refereeing.almost every weekend MOTD spends more time debating referees decisions, than analysing the game. I think bringing in VAR is going to embarrass a lot of our so called elite referees.

I believe the standard of refereeing is truly atrocious in this country. I am extremely pleased they have not been chosen as they are generally (without being too harsh) an out and out disgrace.

I was lambasted by several posters at the beginning of the season about how Wilf is going to get seriously injured if the Refs don't step in - what happens? They have done nothing. Absolutely nothing. He has been kicked and battered from pillar to post and he is lucky to have only had two injury forced vacancies.

If anybody saw the Sutton v Bromley match on BT Sport yesterday this is a classic example of refereeing being abysmal in this country.

Bromley scored straight after the whistle blew for the second half. About 30 seconds later (which is bloody long time and no flag going up) it was ruled offside! The replays showed that not only was it blatantly onside it was that bad I honestly thought there was a gambling fix. It was so, so poor. Thankfully they won anyway 3-0.

Shame Palace haven't had the same fortune. Just continual miscarriages of justice because of those t***s.

Jon Moss is certainly fit.He wouldn't be refereeing in the PL if he was unfit.

All PL referees meet at a 'Training Camp' twice a month where they undertake physical training exercises.

Furthermore they have formal fitness tests four times a year for the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) and two times a year for UEFA.

Competence doesn't seem to be a requirement and impartiality certainly isn't, so it's hardly surprising when Moss' performances suggest that fitness isn't either.

Evidently the "training camps" are as meaningful as the "forensic examinations" of their feeble performances.
