'Championship Standard' ?? Most of the players in the Premiership are Championship Standard. Which is why the teams that get relegated struggle to get back up. It is also why players such as Glenn Murray, Sam Vokes, Callum Wilson etc. etc. do well. And why Brighton, Newcastle and Huddersfield are doing alright this season. 70% of the Premiership Sides in the division are a mixture of 1-5 Premiership Standard players, and 20-24 Championship Standard players. We should stop denigrating Championship Standard players; and we should stop thinking that we are all of a sudden going to be able to sign 25 Premiership Standard players. The difference is a Premiership standard manager. We are where we were because of RdB, and we are where we are because of Roy. We need to stop burning through Premiership quality managers, everything else will come good.

Can't really judge Sorloth on the 4 games, 3 of which were against top teams. A player generally needs time to adapt to a new club as well, give the lad a chance please people.

"Most" of the players in the premiership are premiership standard, as they constitute the majority of players in the premiership. I.e. the average quality of a player is defined by the quality of the majority of players in the league, in effect. I think what you're actually saying, is that the gap between lower-mid premiership and champ is not that big, and I agree. Rest of your post is right, quality players ain't cheap.

Seems like we are in violent agreement then. My point about "Championship Quality" is that you can say that Sorloth is "Championship Quality" but that applies to the majority of players in the Premiership. It is wrong for us to label Sorloth as Championship Quality as if that is some sort of guarantee that he is doomed to fail in the Premiership. Plenty of Championship Quality players have done well in the Premiership.

Leicester won the league with championship players, would say half a squad in 13 clubs have good championship players, only first 11 are premiership players, and you need to look at the top end to see quality players in numbers

At the moment, we have a merry go round of sacked Premier managers being employed again by other Premier clubs.

The point that I was trying to make is that we have been burning through proven Premiership Quality managers recently. (i.e. Managers who have proven that they can perform for us in the Premiership). That includes Pulis and Allardyce. We need to stop doing that, and keep hold of Roy.
