This whole thread and barely anyone has actually questioned the thread title - I can't find it saying anywhere that he's out for the rest of the season. He may well prove to be, but at the moment there is zero evidence of it!

If Jules is out as suggested,a sad indictment of SP failed transfer strategy where we have known the need for a gk ,a striker were the bare requirements, since the last window. Injuries can never be predicted but some cover is better than no cover and is surely prudent in my view. Our squad is now threadbare and Roy will no doubt be expected to perform yet more miracles, which he will probably do,with any luck.

For real? Parish, the man who has kept us up for a longer spell than any other chairman in our history, bringing through some of the most exciting players ever to grace the Selhurst pitch, all while taking us from being in massive debt to one of the richest clubs in the world, is doing a bad job? If Wilf and Speroni are out for the season, then that is massively unfortunate. We will have them two, Schlupp, RLC, Wickham, Dann and Sako out for the next 13 games. But firstly, I still think we've given ourselves a great chance of staying up, and credit should go to Parish for killing the FdB project early even at the expense of him looking a mug. Second, name one side outside the top 6 who wouldn't struggle with 7 first teamers out injured? Do you expect Parish to go out and sign 3 players for every position? If we go down it would be a massive shame. But we'd still be in an incredible position to bounce straight back. Some people on here seem to not remember where we've historically been. Yawn, yawn, and yawn some more. How anyone can ask "for real" if someone criticizes the way Parish operates is beyond my realm of understanding. Yes we are being very unlucky with injuries right now, but other than that Parish is the architect of our issues. Lets not mention FDB as anything other than a complete shambles of a protracted and overlong manager search, leaving us with our worst managerial appointment in recent memory. How someone can take so long, and get it so wrong, is unbelievable. Appointing De Boer is as stark an example at how bad Parish is at running this club that anyone could ever make. His approach to transfers is totally reckless and frankly p%ss poor. Not signing a striker in the last window, not signing a keeper in either, its just not good enough. Parish has presided over our longest run in the prem more through luck than judgement. My 6 year old nephew could appoint people like Pulis, Allardyce and Hogdson. The difference is my 6 year old could have probably found ways to work with those managers (like most chairmen in their careers) and not seen them quit the club so early. Time will tell on what Hodgson does but after saying we needed to sign another keeper for the entire month of January, not seeing us do it (because of more game playing and brinkmanship from Parish re Guaita, and not acting fast enough on Ronnow) only to then see Speroni get injured almost immediately after the window, who could blame the guy for starting to think about leaving.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

Hopefully he won’t be out for very long, Hennessey stays fit and we can all wind our necks in for the time being.

am I imagining it, or is there not some separate rule about loaning in keepers?
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

I seem to recall you can get a keeper for a week (or something silly like that) but only if you don't have one able to play that has made a number of first team appearances.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

Save it mate, it's wasted on some these ungrateful lot. Basically he's meant to predict the future, run the club into the ground not giving a damn how much is spent, force every player that we like to sign for us and pay him and his agent and the selling club whatever they want... A thankless task really.

But the point is all of these injuries were known a couple weeks ago. Which makes our relative lack of squad reinforcement before the window closed inexcusable.

A striker, two midfielders, a CB and a FB. Not ideal but we still had cover. We've since lost another CB, two wingers/strikers and a GK. Impossible to foresee and equally impossible for us to have bought enough players in January to cover, even with unlimited resources due to the 25 man squad having to be stated and because of FFP.
