I’m liking the look of the Sorloth/Benteke double strike partnership.

I think for these tough upcoming games we may go with 451/ 4231:

Henessey
TFM Tomkins Sakho Ward
Luka Cabaye
Townsend McArthur PVA
Benteke

Subs:
Jules/ Henry, Jach, Souare, Riedwald, Rakip, Lee, Sorloth

Then if we want to go more attacking switch to 442 with either PVA or McArthur dropping out for Sorloth and PVA moving to LB.

Team is strong enough to pick up results.

don't fancy Sorloth and Benteke together.

if he's fit, I'd put Souare on the left wing and tell him to get early crosses onto Benteke's bonce. we'll lose wilf's skill and ball retention, (we will no matter who comes in) but gain a little bit of defensive cover and the kinds of deliveries that might suit big Ben better.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Everybody keeps choosing Benteke and Sorloth together )
I get you want to see Sorloth in action, but Hodgson is never going to do that. He didn't do that in a home match.

The way I know him, he'll either put Riedewald next to Milivojevic and play defensively with Cabaye further up OR send one of PVA or Chungy in Zaha's exact position. If PVA, then it's a start for Souare.
So it's basically a choice between Riedawald/Chungy/Souare.

That horrible winter transfer period really shows its effects now, no real attacking options.

I expect a defensive approach. Can't see us scoring more that 1. Hopefully not conceding much either

What about super Jordon mutch? Maybe Roy can do a "Sako" with him?? Seem to remember that ol' Bakary was out of favour until Roy and maybe the same turnaround can happen with mutch..

To be honest I think it's not too much to bring one of our new signings in. Luka came right in from the Greek pl so as far as I'm concerned if they looked good in training it's time for one of them to step up.

Y'all are discounting Chungy way too quickly. Sure, he made a bad mistake with the back pass against Burnley....but all players make mistakes.

He's actually a tidy player. Wouldn't hesitate to bring him back in.

Hennessey

TFM/Ward Sakho Tomkins PvA

Townsend Cabaye Luka Riedewald

McArthur

Benteke

PVA can bomb forward knowing Riedewald can cover, McArthur has licence to attack, join Benteke, and harry their back four. Lots of longballs and crosses at Benteke then get men around him for the second ball all while being solid at the back.
I think Ward is a better defender than TFM and should come back in especially against the big teams, on a good day Ward can give good players no change.

Sorloth to come on especially if we are chasing the game.

I would probably go with this as well.
On sunday PVA was looking very sprightly and deserved to be played further forward.

Maybe swap Macarthur in a more DM role and Cabaye more forward

Of all the defenders, Ward has the more experience as EPL LB. I'd like to see all our new transfers on the bench with perhaps that Nye Kirby instead of Lee.

Now we are really goin' to see Roy's worth! While the socalled "great" managers - Pep, Jose & co go out and buy an other 50 mill. pund player or two if someone injured - our own Sir Roy have to deal with what we've already got in the squad. I think he'll see us through AND get money to spend come summer!
