Yes next 6 games look tricky but that's what we said last season about Arsenal Chelsea Liverpool That's it about palace wins come from the most unexpected games and law of averages says some sort or result against Utd is due!

37 points have averaged survival over the 22 seasons of 38 games. I posted this on the match thread, and cannot figure out how to link to it directly. "Over the 22 seasons (with 38 games), the average number of points gained by clubs in the relegation zone has been about 13-14 from now to the end of the season. The highest gain was 22 points, and the lowest was 8. On only 7 occasions so far, has the relegation zone moved by more than 14 points. 37 is the average number needed to stay up, and a higher number was required only 7 times." I suspect the number to stay up will be a bit lower than the average this year simply because it is so tight at the bottom and there are loads of six pointers in the bottom half of the table. I agree to a certain extent but this is a view every season. Not saying you're wrong. But is it that closer than normal, and can it quickly change?

I really don't share your confidence about these "Winnable" games. For starters Everton next week will be very tough and I cannot see us getting any points at all. Edited by Willo (04 Feb 2018 8.15pm) IF we beat them we are 5 points from safety.

I would urge those to ignore the ridiculous allegations of "Troll". I have looked at the next 6 games - Everton,Tottenham,Man Utd,Chelsea,Huddersfield,Liverpool. In all honesty how many points will we get ? Looking at the 'Big Picture' I am seriously concerned about our chances and speaking to some at the game today I am far far being alone. Some on HOL express a more positive message but all I am doing is stating how I feel.
He's right though, you're like thus evert season, always think we're going to loose the next game.

Our next 6 matches include games against Tottenham,Man Utd,Chelsea and Liverpool. Really cannot see too many points from those games. We really needed to win today against a less than impressive Newcastle team.Hodgson had a look today of a man who is starting to believe that we won't survive.I'm afraid I'm of his mindset.
You said this last season. Do you think we're worse than Huddersfield, Newcastle, Swansea, Brighton, Stoke and West Brom? All of whom still have tough fixtures left and all but Brighton have to get more points than us. I really don't think for a minute Hodgson thinks we'll go down. Watford are also plummeting like a stone and the Watford fans I know don't think they will win another game this season. Should have won today but we showed we're better than Newcastle. 15 games only losing to arsenal. I don't know why you're so negative.

We will get 5 or 6 points from next 6 games. How many do you reckon Brighton will get out of Arsenal (H) Everton (Away) Man City (Away) Leicester (H) Us (Away) Spurs (H) Burnley (Away) Manure (H) Liverpool (Away)? I think they will struggle in all of those, leaving Swansea and Huddersfield home and Stoke away. Maybe 8 more points max. So 35. That's just one team. Our fixtures are not crazy or worse than anyone else's. Arguably we've only got 4 of the top 7 and not city and 3 of those are at home. So arguably better fixtures

According to the bookies there are 8 teams more likely to go down than us. Bookies take into account form, players, injuries, fixtures and managerial experience. Odds being offered are 10 to 1. If you are so confident we will be relegated stick a grand on and walk away eith ten.

I've looked at the next 6 games and really cannot see us averaging a point of game.If we do this would take us to 33 pts after 32 games and then we would probably need another 6/7 pts to survive so just about 1 point a game from the 6 games after that.In actual fact, we could well be in the bottom 3 after the next 6 games. Problem is we might well need over a point a game from the final 6 games and we could be in a situation where we will be 'Scared' by our results in the 6 games before that so we might not able to get the required points. I hope Everton defend like they did against Arsenal on Saturday against us. 40 points won't be needed to stay up in my opinion. 36, 37 points should be enough. Maybe 35 points might be enough.
