Like I say, I presented two videos.......one of them was an army recruitment video designed to attract the kind of people you need in an army. Most of the people 'they should be attracting' will no doubt be thinking of joining. I doubt that video puts of years of thought of doing so. It no doubt takes lots of thought and consideration, not an impulse decision. I think the trade aspect to it should be in there though.

The feminisation of our society with its attacks on masculinity have had real world affects. I'm sorry...You obviously aren't that aware of recruitment numbers and what's currently happening. As for your thought....that if someone puts in lots of thought and consideration the outcome is going to be sensible. I'm sorry, your trust in the process is far larger than mine. As a teenager who tried to join the Army in the eighties I would have been repelled by adverts like these. As a teacher who regularly recommended the military when asked by teenagers I thought suitable I couldn't have recommended that they watched this. Sign.

My son says the standard of recruits that are coming through at the moment are just not up to scratch. he is a section leader.therefore he leads in battle and training. both him and his mates say that there is always a better standard of recruit when there are conflicts we are involved in. sad state of affairs but there you are,he should know.

Can you expand on this? And is it anything to do with the advert? What does he think of it?

I don't doubt you need a hardness for it. That's a given, and always has been. It's the opening up to your same rank that's what I see this being about.

This is about what the so called 'leaders' in charge of producing messages to our youth are doing....the messages they are putting out to the very important youth willing to join the military. Those generations of the past were capable of winning battles and wars however that's about the height of what WW1 and WW2 have to do with my post. We have upstanding youth today...but these are the messages they are getting from our military....I compared it to countries that aren't affected with this ridiculous cultural weakness. The Chinese video makes you cringe because....based on your posts you are a beta male who would be about as useful as a pint of yoghurt in an actual war.
You righties love the army but you don't give a s*** how the soldiers are treated, it's so contradictory I can't even argue with it. How we treated our soldiers (shootin' em in the face) after "cowardice" (a lack of understanding how the human brain actually works) was disgusting and even though our ad for the army was limp-wristed, it's nice to see there is at least the pretence we care about people we send out to keep us and others safe.

Well, while I have no means of knowing the truth of your claim my observation is purely based upon the manner of your posts. I reject the claim that the British military has.....since the second world war not cared sufficiently for its personnel. I find that claim purest emotive unrealistic nonsense. Essentially, while you acknowledge the 'limp wristed' impression of the advert, the end result is that by encouraging this change you advocate for a weaker British military by supporting its encouragement of unsuitable people.

As for the UK Michael Fallon in 2017 confirmed that the UK would use nuclear weapons in a 'pre-emptive initial strike' in 'the most extreme circumstances'.....which is no first use in all but name. If you are Corbyn....it's no use at all.....come on in and rule over us....just no hurty.
