Yeah I get that. I just think many like me feel that our position is still fragile. It has been ever since we were promoted and until we get at least 35,000 seats it will always be the same. Money (revenue) talks in todays game. Sadly.

Yes I’m seriously worried. I can’t believe after the last window’s Niasse farce we’re going to have to go through this again. It wouldn’t surprise me if Hodgson walked away if we fail to sign a striker before the deadline. I can only assume and hope that Freedman and co. are working furiously behind the scenes to get at least one decent forward over the line but I can’t say I’m confident. The goalkeeper situation I’m not too bothered about. We’ve managed to get through 24 games and haven’t done too bad so I’m sure we’ll be fine until the end of the season.

Arsenal being the perceived free swing that it turned out to be and all. West Ham will be the day before deadline day and we should have enough to get something from them as we are. This could be a reason that they’ve decided to hold out until deadline day now as they try to go for the better deals. i agree with you brent...however i dont agree we get a better deal leaving ot late...see sams deals last january barring luca, who is a monster of a player. it seems to be the way that one big transfer paves the way for a lot more down the line, or every clubs holding out for a deal & panics whenit doesnt happen, see doyle/aj/adebayor as recent proof. what i dont understand is why most clubs play this game of checking every hand then raising at the last minute to get bits done...its like they are told to do so by sky to make jim white & his yellow look good on dedline day. to their credit, 2010 have got 2 players in but both are inexpensive risks, and i kinda understand it as we spent this window money on sakho last minute in september but its a dangerous game to play. in my heart the polish lad could he another scotty dann & the swedish guy could be a paul stewart but we just dont seem to sdpp that lucky anymore

It might not be our fault ,clubs agents ,players hang out to tha last minute for better deals.which makes sense ,so it’s a game of holding your nerve but could go tits up but I’ve got a feeling we will end up with that Celtic lad Dembele just a hunch

I hear what you say but I hope that it's not true as that's the "fingers crossed" style of management and is very dangerous as we're not particularly lucky with injuries with two long term injuries suffered in one match for example. Transfers should always be conducted with one eye on what might happen to ensure that we always have the right cover in the squad

Half of the PL are in danger, including us. Luckily our manager recognises this. I'm not expecting much from this window. We can't offer a starting place to a striker unless we either sell Benteke ( highly unlikely ) or Roy decides to change tactically. So in theory anyone who comes in has to accept that they are going to be a regular sub and no more. So the real talent is unlikely to come and we have to accept the likes of Ulloa ( should we sign him ) who is at least better than nothing. Benteke is not a guaranteed starter if we get some one in.

If you listen to the interview with Polish lad you'll hear that he knew about our interest weeks before the transfer, which shows there is stuff going on behind the scenes. I imagine negotiating both the sale and the contract are more akin to buying a house than walking into carphone warehouse and getting a phone. We must get a striker, I just hope we are able to get who we want. The last minute nature of things does seem to give Parish a boner, and hopefully this time there'll be a pleasant climax.

A striker was at the top of the list, but I cannot see that happening. Who needs another striker that can’t score goals, there are plenty of them about? All the top strikers have been bagged by the top 6 which is why we 2 leagues in the Premiership. If Tekkers was doing the business we would make do with what we have got.
