Liverpool were toilet. The Swans were up for the fight. It was a fair result. The better team, on the night, won. gutted, but not really surprised.

Really? Liverpool were poor, but what exactly did Swansea do? Got lucky on a poor header from a set piece, play awfully negative with offering nothing going forward and then it's a deserved victory? Watching games like this live is killing my appetite for football. A terrible game aside from a few sparse moments about as entertaining as watching paint dry. Then a s***e result for us to top it off. Originally posted by Brinscall Eagle
I must say the Swans deserved that. They gave Liverpool no room at all and forced them to keep passing back after making a move forward. Well done to them . It makes no difference to us as we are ahead of several teams and it is in our own hands. Keep winning games and picking up points and we will get there.

I've never felt it was rosy. Edited by Willo (22 Jan 2018 9.59pm) We probably don't need that sort of run now. We needed it to overcome an appalling start to the season that left us with zero points and an awful goal difference. We are now in the mix with others but a number of those around us are in really poor form. We need 15 points from 14 games and that's pretty reasonable now. We also only have four of those games against the so called big six and as we've seen tonight Liverpool are not invincible neither for that matter are Spurs. We have games against all of the teams around us which they have to win to gain any advantage. All in all I'm pretty confident we will be ok.

They passed the ball backwards and forwards around the edge of the Swansea box until one of the following happened. a) Someone thinks he's Billy Big Bollocks and tries to score from forty yards. Ball goes further than a six over extra cover from Sir Garfield Sobers. b) Ball comes to Robertson wideish on the left who whacks it across the box exactly where there are no Liverpool players and either Fabianski mops it up or one of their centre backs hoofs it upfield. c) Ball comes to Robertson wideish on the left who lobs it feebly into the air somewhere over the penalty spot and Fabianski mops it up. There was no wide play at all. Just like England. Oxtail Chamberpot did nothing and Robertson ran and got the ball OK but his balls into the box were toilet.

The amount of 'shots' that were 10 yards wide or high of the woodwork was shocking. Its like Stevie Gerrard was back on the pitch.

I saw that, but does that make the victory "deserved"? Gambling on luck from set pieces? I don't think so. Its an awful way of playing football and a disgraceful way of playing home games. Or am I losing the plot, having still a vague idea football is about entertainment? Originally posted by Willo
