Don’t get me wrong, I’m not fully fledged supporter of alternative whathaveyous, I was a vegetarian for years since beat West Ham I the play off final. I got food poisoning and couldn’t enjoy the game at all. Ate a dodgy lamb kebab on the Friday night.

Went veggie for years. As the food poisoning was one of the most dreadful experiences of my entire life. Then I married a Filipino woman five years back and well, do they eat meat or what. Over a four year period I ended up cracking last December. 13 months ago at poxy Toby’s in south croydon.

So now eat occasional meat, maybe once a fortnight. But I’ve reduced milk big time.

Take a look at this guy...talks a lot of sense

For the vast majority of our 5 million or so years on this planet, humans lived alongside animals, and lived surprisingly well. I've been doing quite a lot of reading on hunter-gatherer societies and there is growing evidence that the huge monuments which they erected were done for no other reason than co-operative enterprise and socialising.

You are of course entitled to believe whatever you want, just as I am to criticise certain beliefs. I have some sympathy for the vegetarian mindset and any desire to promote less suffering.....just not the use of dodgey claims in pursuit of alternative lifestyles.

In respect to that seeing that you have been reading about early societies where on earth did you come across the idea that humans have been here for 5 million years?

Everything I've read suggest that modern humans branched off somewhere between 200, 000 to 500, 000 years ago.

You are probably referring to forms of Hominini, which are not humans.

Personally I have more interest in the use of technology to improve meat (which I disagree is a terrible food) and also ultimately end the killing of significant numbers of animals.....at least in the west and developed nations.

We are surprisingly close to this.....This is the route that I have no issues with. Even though it feeds into the destruction of large sections of the agricultural economy......though technology is going to put people out of jobs in large numbers over the next thirty years anyway.

Well, you're clearly not a scientist so I worded it in primary school language for you. Maybe even that's too difficult for you to understand but then again, that's not surprising.

Unless you are yourself a scientist your point is paradoxical.

The only reason to exclude dairy or wheat from diet is if you have allergy or sensitivity to it otherwise no need they are apart of a healthy diet.

That's wrong.

Most people have dairy and/or wheat intolerance. That's different to an allergy. The issue is that they've always consumed products containing dairy/wheat all of their lives, so they have no experience of their body's state without them. That doesn't mean you stop eating dairy/wheat for 1-2 weeks and see how you feel, it means staying strictly away from them for at least 6 months, which few have the will power to do. Still, it's everyone's choice but our (and many others) health was transformed after abstaining for at least 6 months. We didn't just do this as a fad but had very good advice to do so from a close friend who (as a business) advises parents with autistic children on ways to improve the health, behaviour and quality of life for them with amazing results. Many of these dietary recommendations are also of huge benefit to the non-autistic community.

When you write stuff like this it simply highlights your ignorance and insecurity.
Your personal experiences with diet are not sufficient to convince anybody of anything, much like your other observations.

This whole thing about animal cruelty is rubbish think of it this way if we no longer have use for these animals because he wont be eating anything they produce then we no longer have any need for them so they will disappear.

so what is better to use the animals keep breeding and feeding them or just say well bye bye no use for you let them all die out.

Exactly...at this rate give it 50years and we'll have Sheep and Cows in zoo's as they become an endangered species.

It is a matter of personal choice.

Everything we do should be based on 'choice' but a well informed one rather than an ill informed one.

The problem lies with determining which is which...

Well that's their challenge then isn't it, to adapt, find viable alternatives.

But I can't see milk especially and cheeses being much less in demand.

Eating dead animals is harmful to physical and mental health I think that's how people are feeling.

You’d be surprised. The alternatives market both here and in more health consceous countries like Australia is booming.

Baldrick in Blackadder Goes Forth had a substitute(s) for milk.

If you're lucky you'll get milk milk in your grocery delivery.
