6 or 7 must of been Roy's little joke. It'll be 2 at the most signed on or the day before deadline day.

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

Our squad depth is the problem, our first choice 11 is decent, the squad is painfully thin and has been for a while now.

Absolutely this. Along with Frank the root of our issues this season. Woefully short of squad quality.

I can't see us sorting our squad depth problem out in 1 window/season. We need to get rid of 8 players and to bring in quality will be tough and expensive.
I think the summer will be a good place to start by off loading Benteke, Townsend, Delaney, Mutch and a couple of the other always sub players. That would hopefully bring in £50m.
I would include Wickam in that if it looks like he won't be fit, but as I said, you can't just change the whole squad in a year and I would like to have RLC and Fosu Mensah for another year loan.
It's obviously pivotal we keep Zaha, but if someone wants him, then it's £50m minimum.

You have to laugh sometimes.
Steve Parish is a serial offender for leaving deals too late and not offering enough money. We have lost out several times because of this. Our situation this season is partly caused by failing to secure a striker in the Summer yet again. Our chairman never seems to learn from his mistakes or ever take the blame.
We have to have a striker and a centre half minimum and another midfielder and right back would be good. Our squad is seriously light on quality in depth.

Seems od that with our admin personnel like DF we haven't been digging out the young talent in the lower divisions which is definitely there.
Worrell for example at Forest...........or maybe we have but keeping it close to our chests

Wasn't that the issue last summer?

No need to panic just yet because there's over a fortnight to go. Was it MoTD that showed the Yankee Doodle co-owners sitting alongside Parish in the stand yesterday? Maybe that's a good indication of some positive action to come?

Maybe. They were also at the NBA London game. They know little or nothing about Football (not Sports) I'd guess they would trust Parish's judgement on transfer matters.

Tosun on deadline day. We wanted to do instalments but they wanted the fee, £13m up front. He signed for Everton 2 weeks ago for £25m.

Niasse on deadline day. We refused to pay the agent's fee after he arrived in Soho at the same time as Sakho.

A lower league goalkeeper on deadline day. Can't remember which one but he's first choice and we didn't leave them time to sign a replacement.

Do you want more examples?

Tosun's value only went up this season after scoring goals in some -euro cup,he was not consider any better than Niassie, Parish already splashed 30M odd for Sahko, and was prepared to pay 10m Niassie, if you read the reports the agent wanted payment from Palace and Everton, both clubs refused, so don't put all the blame on Parish.
It was the agents fault 100%the deal broke down

It was the Champions League, the 'biggest club competition in the world' so it isn't a Mickey Mouse game.

I wrote that Parish wouldn't pay the agent's fee. We had not signed Sakho at that time because both deals were negotiated at the same time, they arrived in Soho together. They were actually pictured arriving together.

All deals involved agents being paid, just look at Pogba. It's part and parcel of football. I admired Jordan's stance on agents though it hurt us sometimes.

It seems people love Parish for the same reasons they hate Jordan.

You are right but in this case I think the amount was ridiculous and higher than originally agreed. Everton also refused to pay up. Can't blame Parish for not wanting to line the pocket of a greedy agent
