Going back to the original Lanzini dive, if a remember it correctly he gets the ball inside his own half. As Stoke's defence isn't set a Stoke midfielder tries 'take one for the team' and take out lanzini he doesn't. Lanzini goes on, gets to the edge of the area and a second defender tries to take him out and fails finally Peters, I think, goes to ground and Lanzini flops over having got to the penalty area. Simulation and the professional foul and their impact on the game is to me the perfect reason for bringing in the sin bin in football, because a yellow card is ineffective in stopping it and a red is probably too penal (although I would accept the argument that blatant simulation should be a red). 15 minutes out of the game might change your mind when you are considering making the challenge.

Agree, it pisses me off as well. Selective punditry. A very very obvious dive, he as much said so. Would you not adapt your movement to other players anywhere else on the pitch it would be a continuing story of people on the grass. Now because it is in the box we get the : there was contact. I would love a ban on that phrase . And a ban on players who abuse it. quote=johnno42000;3306248] I'm not sure as only saw it quickly but I think Kane was able (sorry ) to fool Moss today. Not a dicky bird about it from the commentators.

Arjen Robben. shameful to see a fella with such talent who is wasting opportunities on goal with blatant diving.
and surely a fall when travelling at high speed towards the point 3 meters to the left of the goal is not a real 'goal scoring opportunity' the punishment for diving is still too soft.

Dele Alli - but according to Pochettino it's our fault: “He is an easy target for other fans as it is easy to complain or accuse Dele. He is very focused on trying to improve, we are focused on trying to help him. He is a great player, a great kid and a very competitive guy who wants to win.I trust the referees 200 per cent. I trust that they are professional and that they will not behave like fans.” Hmm - or the referee needed to grow some balls and get his card out.
“My experience of life is that it is not divided up into genres; it’s a horrifying, romantic, tragic, comical, science-fiction cowboy detective novel. You know, with a bit of pornography if you’re lucky." |

Is trusting someone 200% more that trusting them 100%? If it is then why doesn't he trust them more than 200%? Dele Alli is a gifted footballer but a bit of a c***. The fact that Kane was sticking up for him, who also falls over for little or no reason, speaks volumes.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |
