I don't understand the confused statements on Jeff. As soon as he receives the ball he looks for the next pass!? that's football no, pass and then you move a bit, we ain't playing FIFA with run fast button.
Can you understand confidence affects most players from doing risky things, wilf is an exception to this, most games I see Jeff doing perfectly well for a left back who has wilf or Ruben in front of him not really playing a 442 so Jeff has to play conservatively. Offers enough going forward too compared to most LB or RB we've had.

I don't think he was brought in to play Frank football. Check which manager bought him.. and did we have a first team level LB available when we bought him?

Who would you all say has been so much better as a LB? I'd give you Souare and Gordon as bit better. Cole as much better. Samson too I guess but never see him.
And who would we get to replace?
For under 10million remember!!

Roberto Carlos is a free agent as a goal scoring LB with a cracking shot ...

Big Sam loves PVA so it may just happen - would be a great deal for Palace.

all depends ££ and replacement options. it seems like we pay at least 10m for any player these days and they ain't always all that. maybe there's a good young cheap talent for 5m up in the SPL. I dunno. why can't we just snaffle us a bargain? (don't answer that).

Error: "talent" and "SPL" in same sentence. Cannot compute.

Low standard in Scotland but Celtic have an exceptional left back in Tierney. Doubt that Palace could get him, I suspect that If he leaves he will go to a club bigger than us.

I am only reading this now Rudi, but do you really think we beat Watford because of Roy's genius touch in substitutes?
Not slagging him off, but putting PvA on the right was madness and it was sheer luck we did win that game. Now I watched it at a stream at home and see things much clearer then when at the ground. We were lucky, and so was Roy. Nothing at all to do with managing, football insights or in depth knowledge.

On 67 mins PVA was brought on to play with Schlupp on the left 3 mins before Mensah got injured at RB. That has worked before and gives us more attacking width whilst able to rush back and defend.

Roy brought on Sako for Mensah and we won. The alternative was bringing on another defender in Kelly or moving Jimmy back to RB and losing that passing threat on the edge of the box and odd goal contribution.

Perhaps you might like to reconsider what happened and why.

PVA was brought on before Mensah was injured. Roy had the choice of either putting someone else there at RB or building our attack for the 3 points we needed. It was never in his plans tout PVA at right back.

Roy's decisions had an influence on the end of the end of the game, yes. It was perhaps not as beautiful as a conductor in front of an orchestra but his choices nudged us towards a win.

PVA seems to have a great attitude and I have a feeling he's well liked in the dressing room... his form has come on immensely under Roy.

I'd be hesitant about selling a player ticking those boxes. If he continues to improve he could actually be worth a fortune in a year or two..

Maybe there's a reason why Everton and City have there eye on him.

I'd keep him...

He's f***ing useless...he cant trap a ball, challenge for a ball, Head a ball, win a tackle and has a poorer first touch than Jimmy Saville!

He's a £5m left back NOT a £14m one!

Tierney would be brilliant, really think he is destined to be one of the greats, not quite at Sansom’s level yet, but looks like has the potential. Would be very surprised if he left Celtic for anyone who was not Champions league regular.
