It seems at the moment PL table split in 2. Top 10 (not sure about Watford) not in relegation trouble, the bottom 10 is. Midweek games only Palace of those 10 won, two draws (WBA & West Ham) while Swansea, Bournemouth, Newcastle, Stoke, Soton, Huddersfield and Brighton all lost. We are slowly but surely creeping into safety, but our injuries don't look good for Christmas (Sakho, Ward, Fosu-M).

We have given ourselves a fighting chance and thanks to Hodgson are NOT the 'Basket case' we once were. The points differential between several clubs in the bottom half of the table is likely to be fairly minimal for a while with several clubs fighting a relegation battle. I cannot see us getting anything at Leicester on Saturday so I expect us to be in the bottom 3 at the end of the all the games but my goodness we have given ourselves a real chance of survival.

3 of the next 4 are very tough. That brings everyone back down to earth after winning games we have to to stay up.

This could be the longest running relegation battle in PL history. It certainly will be for us having started on the first game of the season.

Swansea got defeated heavily by Man C (No disgrace) but if you look at their previous few games at the 'Liberty' they haven't conceded many goals.

I agree. With the assertion that 3 out of the 4 games were going to be tough I concluded that there was inference that this didn't apply to the Swansea game, hence my comments that Swansea should not be excluded in this respect. I happen to believe that clubs in the relegation battle who take a peek at our fixtures until the end of the year will be delighted by what they see.

Every game we play in the Premier is very tough. TougherER then. Or were the previous matches not 'winnable' then? Make no mistake, the next 4 matches are very tough, but that can sometimes throw up some surprise results, especially when they're grouped together and you're playing similarly for that period (Arsenal, then Man City). It's very realistic to expect not very much from these so 1 point per game would be okay. More would be great but less and we're still in the 'must win', 'mustn't lose' approach to many games.

The main thing is we keep dragging the teams above us back down. They all thought they were safe after 8 games now look at them. Dire Straits. The relegation battle will be madness this year. Ourselves and West Ham have gained momentum and the like of Brighton Stoke Newcastle Bournemouth Huddersfield WestBrom are in trouble. It will be interesting to see the bottom 3 at xmas, because we wont be in it. I am very happy where we are heading. However, I admire your optimism given the teams we are paying between now and Xmas...

Bit of a mixed bag. None of our close rivals won and Swansea got tonked. Brighton, Bournemouth and Newcastle losing is good for us as it keeps the bottom half nice and close. Downsides are the draws for West Ham and West Brom, the latter of which keeps us in the relegation zone on GD (Liverpool had a goal -rightly but annoyingly - ruled out late on in the West Brom game). Still, we did our job! That is the key. If we pick up our points we wont need to worry about what the others are doing.
