The most mental thing about the incident was Luka offered it to him and then that Benteke was clearly saying no I don't fancy it. He walked away then ran back saying f*** it. It wasn't like he demanded it or forced it. Luka has a lot to answer for for my money.

He put the ball on the spot, no time did he walk away, he said something to Luka, who put his shirt over his face. I do believe the senior players should have stepped up to the plate and pulled Benteke away. The bench were going mental when they realised what was going on. Zaha fuming at the end

How costly is this going to be not only points wise but also regarding moral. Sadly never rated Big Ben really not a Palace type signing. More interested in himself than the team and the fans. Absolutely arrogant and irresponsible today. Get rid in January so not worth the massive transfer fee.

In fairness to tekkers, he was desperate to break his scoring duck. He has the bottle to seize the opportunity. He’ll be more gutted than anyone that he fluffed it. Sooner or later, it will come good. Let’s hope it’s sooner.

Benteke could so easily have been the hero of the day. I was at the other end so could not see if he was offered the ball or snatched it. I did see Benteke take his penalty ... but it was very similar to the one taken by the 10 year girl from Bournemouth at half time. That one was saved by Pete the Eagle. Gutted ... of course.
