Think I am going to stick my neck out and risk an inevitable backlash on here.

I don't feel a big need for us to sign him permanently. At the start of the season he certainly looked much better than most of our players but now Roy has gone a long way to repair the damage FdB had done to our players performances I feel they have caught up somewhat to RLC and he has not looked as impressive in comparison as he did.

Chelski may well have a new manager for next season so it will be up to him. He may well wish to develop him within the club. Ideally another season on loan would be great, like to see Tammy Abraham come along as well, although with Batshuayi injured he might well be staying for a while.

I think I have to agree - if anyone can pinpoint a game in which he's been the most influential player on the pitch then they have a better memory than me,

I realise he's had injury problems and i really do like him as a player but he's not persuaded me that he's the 'Rolls Royce' the media keeps describing him as.

Whether or not we try to sign him is another matter - surely the crucial point would be the price. I can't see Chelsea selling him for under £30M and (as much as he's shown glimpses of excellence) I'd be far happier to take him on loan for another season rather splurge a huge chunk of the Summer of budget on a player who has - on reflection - failed to convince.

RLC has not ruled out joining us. He enjoys the vibe around the club and has made good friends. (Know this from speaking to him.)

I reckon another season on loan?

I would have completely agreed with you, he always seemed flattered to deceive, until the Brighton game. Lots of pretty running but to what end? But versus the weed I thought he was very impressive in the first half. Bossed it.

That said, I’d want to see a lot more before we paid big money. I think he could be a very good midfield playmaker in time. With his stature he’s be a beast if wanted to be.

Still can’t work him out. He could either develop into a top player, or become a rodwell/Huddleson.
He seems to offer a lot, but doesn’t really deliver. Think for a young player he picks up a lot of knocks. Still not sure, I’d be up for us buying him , but wouldn’t want to pay over the odds.

Said that on another thread the other day. Definitely his most impressive performance this season. Whether it was the players around him but he did look very good in that game. He was going deep grabbing the ball and lot was coming through him.

I am like others. I think he is very good but he has a lot of faults the biggest for me being too casual in his passing and apparently poor work rate. He is a languid sort of player and therefore is not consistent in performance. He would be a useful addition to our side but at what price?

I can't see why you'd place more value on one (admittedly good 45 minute) performance in an meaningless International friendly over a series of mediocre displays for us. We play - hopefully - in the Premier League and that's where he must be judged.

I like him - but I'm not convinced we should pay the type of money we all expect Chelsea to demand.

I don't think we stand a chance. Chelski will want a fortune if they do decide to sell, and if he does go to the WC then bigger fish than us will be interested.

Unless he has a stinker.
