You mean he screwed us certainly? By not taking anything from our first two home games against relegation candidates no 1 and 3. Just because he wanted to start a vanity project and underestimated the English game.
And to add insult to injury: now , surprise surprise, no other club is in for him; he might consider the Dutch national team. He can sod off with his useless, aimless, boring, overly controlling, non creating possession s***!

Frank wasn’t given a chance, and was the wrong appointment by Parish in the first place, so he got royally screwed.....twice. From what SP said after the last window he knows he made several mistakes. Roy has been vocal about certain positions, so if we don’t spend 25 mil on a keeper and striker I would be amazed. Add in a half decent full back or another winger and he would have splashed some cash there.

Then why was he hired? An employee takes a job and they do what they think is best to get the job done generally speaking. De Boer played a certain way his whole career, and learnt his trade at Ajax for crying out loud, did we not expect possession football? De Boer didnt help himself in some regards but he should never have been anywhere near managing this club. And once Parish had made that clanger, after we actually put a better display in against Burnley, and should have at least scored one (goal line clearance vs Dann for one) he doesnt even give the guy any semblance of a chance to turn things around, and fires him immediately. Totally calamitous way to run a football club. Parish is more responsible for the De Boer fiasco than De Boer is.

I know where he came from, I had a season ticket at Ajax when he started playing there......
But to argue that we knew what to expect is utter nonsense. His whole career , minus a few games at Inter, he has played in and with a 4 men defense, usually with either 3 midfielders and wingers far forward with a striker or at a later stage with a "false" forward winger when the traditional Ajax winger was starting to be unavailable.
His whole attitude and persistence in the 5 men defense was his responsibility and his alone, or do we really think Parish insisted at 5 at the back when hiring him. It may well be worth noticing that the better display at Burnley came after 4 at the back. And behind closed doors I would not be surprised that only happened because of external pressure on the Boer who by then already had managed to loose the dressing room. I am not sure but it does seem likely.

A vanity project and arrogant underestimation of English football.

Totally agree. Spot on. The 3/5/2 5/3/2 or whatever it was, was complete arrogance. He had no real managerial experience with it. Then to continue with it blindly after bad results is just poor management. The switch to 4 at the back against Burnley like you say I feel was only down to external influences.

All in all mistakes were made on both sides (for what it's worth I think Fdb could actually have done ok if he'd gone 433). But I feel a lot more confident now with Roy in charge.

In terms of "Not being cut adrift", the gap between ourselves and safety has narrowed and we are in a more healthy situation than we were a few weeks ago.

That said, a loss today and others around us winning and we will once again be in a more parlous position.I might be going out on Saturday night riddled with negativity.

A draw at the Hawthorns and we'll slowly but surely creep out of relegation zone.

A draw would be a decent result for us.
Cannot see us winning.
As I have mentioned before, at Pardew's last 5 clubs he hasn't lost his opening match as manager.

city / chels & arse!
Swansea / stoke & wba are all in a mix up playing each other next few games so sombodys got to lose out.
as others have mentioned hopefully a greatly improved position by Christmas will warrant a few bob spent.

Agreed. Also I think Huddersfield and the Weed will be hauled in once the lack of squad depth becomes an issue.
