Hmm. What about the conclusions that the Swiss players drew at the time? Which were that nothing of significance had even happened, never mind a penalty shout worth actually appealing for.

It's not as if everyone looked at the replay and said, "You know what? I don't think that's a pen after all". No, what they said was more like "You f***ing what? Are you f***ing joking?". No replay required.

This was yet another completely incompetent performance by a so-called "top referee" who through a pathetic display of bad decisions and guesswork ruined a good game and heavily influenced the outcome of an important competition which all players and fans deserve to have ajudicated professionally. It's a disgrace.
