Is what I posted not pertinent to the discussion?

Not really you just had to put your petty "tory cunds" bit in.
What about the labour MP who was suspended for calling for gand rape.

I think people here may often be mistaking making a pass at someone, in honesty, for sexual harassment.

Harassment is usually what happens when the pass is rejected, but you keep on doing it.

I've managed to avoid harassing women and maintain a fairly decent sexual life as a single man.

All these stories about getting propositioned, hugged or even felt up (which is battery, by the way, not harassment) are missing the point entirely. Harassment occurs when there is a power imbalance and the person with the power uses it to extract sexual favors or merely compliance and silence.

So, when a colleague suggests a quick roll under the conference table, that's not harassment. But if it's your boss, and he/she says "if you want to keep your job or get a raise/promotion, we're going to f*** under the table", that's harassment, because it's coerced by someone who has power over you.

Also, "compliance" doesn't mean acceptance or agreement. If a man points a gun at you and says "give me your wallet or I'll kill you", and you hand over your wallet, you've been robbed. If a man comes up to a women and says "shut up, lay down and don't move or I'll kill you" and then rapes her, she's still been raped even though she was compliant.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

Is that why I asked if any mp's from other parties were implicated.

The labour MP was suspended, and good f***ing riddance too. What was noticeable was that bbcpolitics tweeted about that case 4 or 5 times more than the Tory implicated in sending 'sugar tits' to anne summers to buy sex toys. Can't remember his name.

You've also not read my other posts on the Weinstein thread. What do you think of the bind TM is in. If she takes action, she could lose parliamentary majority, if she doesn't, she loses credibility.

Does it really matter if they're Tory, Labour, SNP, UKIP or Bingo-Bongo party. Sexual harassment is in no way acceptable behaviour for anyone, let alone an MP.

It's all very simple at its core....it's about consent.

It is fine for the boss to f*** the cleaner, if the cleaner wants it.....though even if it is all above board the boss is opening themselves up to a later claim of abuse.

I have a problem with the expansion of what is now apparently 'unacceptable'.

Making a pass isn't unacceptable, it can be inappropriate but unless someone ignores a refusal it's just common sexual behaviour.

Society at the moment rewards 'offence'.....if you aren't automatically believing every claim regardless of some evidence for it....your are apparently, 'blaming the victim'.

Soft headed bulls***.

To be fair the discussion started as a bit of tongue and cheek about the harassment situation. So no it probably wasn't that pertinent.

You could have shared an amusing story of a women groping you. That would have been more pertinent.

Well put.
Let's be honest, a woman can take offence to a chat up if she doesn't fancy you or thinks that you are below her standard. A lot of men think that anything more polite than 'f*** off' means 'I want to have sex with you'..

I thought that these days everyone was supposed to be totally open about sex and at it all the time, changing gender every five minutes and 'celebrating' it all. Now any sort of sexual advance is deemed abuse. It's very confusing. Perhaps people should start wearing badges with 'up for it' and their preferences, current gender, their limits, terms and conditions etc

Agreed. Have you come across any awkward prepositioning as a teacher?

I have no stories like Forests, though I got a little flustered when a woman ran her leg against mine under the table at work. Some guys get all the luck, huh?
