You seem to think everything is so easy. Everton poached Steve Walsh who was lauded for bring players to Leicester to win the title, his efforts at Everton cost the manager his job. Same mistake as Spurs with Bale. Too many unnecessary signings. The big one is sigurdsson now does little out wide but he and Rooney have to play there or get in each other's way in the number 10 area to get them both on the pitch. There's probably several to blame there and I wouldn't remove Koeman from that. At some point the manager has to pipe up and say what is absolutely necessary and what isn't and it was obvious losing Lukaku had to be minimised as much as possible. Go steady with that and then improve each window. Seems as though a lot are in a rush to impress. I wonder why. Not happy with definite, reasonable progression and impressing where they are?

Great, great post. There's such a different mood from a few years ago. "Sense of entitlement" is the perfect description. Originally posted by Aetos
To all those complaining about Parish, read this: That's what a badly run club looks like. We're not like that. We’re the opposite, heading in the right direction a bit erratically and slowly, and secure. None of us knows what goes on inside those offices where transfers are made or break down, few of us have run multi-million pound businesses. But we do know that we aren’t Blackpool. Where has this sense of entitlement come from? You’re getting to sound like Arsenal fans. Come on. This is Palace, our lovely, infuriating Palace. We specialise in snatching triumph from the jaws of disaster at the last minute. Mind you, sometimes we snatch disaster from the jaws of disaster too. It won’t change. Please stop moaning. Even after this unbelievably awful start, this is one of the best times I can remember in fifty years of suffering for this lot. And we can be confident that the club will be around for many more generations to get the bug. Supporting Palace is not for the faint hearted. But it never ceases to be fun. We are here. We are alive. We can watch Wilf. It doesn’t get better than that. PS. Bet we don’t go down.

It is a sense of entitlement. How about appreciating your club is in the Premier League for the fifth successive year having been relegated four out of four times previously. If we go down, so what? The Championship is always a lot of fun anyway. Remember the bleak times, the two administrations. Just enjoy the fact your club is alive and well and financially stable and enjoy the Premier League while you can. Anything else is a bonus! Originally posted by Rudi Hedman
So every time Parish repeats obvious errors nobody in the football world makes and takes liberties in the league with it we should appreciate we're not <insert worst tinpot team of the moment> when in fact we've had a great opportunity to make our stay a very long one without that much grief? Why else sign Sakho? We've had 8 months to target and sign a striker and a keeper. The rest of the planet does it. Whatever 'goes on inside the offices' should be enough to solve that in 8 months. This sense of entitlement? What, wanting more than 1 win and goal scored by one of our players in about 15 league games? That's a sense of entitlement is it? To have a striker? This is one of the best times to be a Palace fan? Sorry but the last few months watching this predictably unfold, reading Parish's arrogant tweets suggesting there's nothing to worry about is anything but good. These issues are not surprises, but a player getting injured when we have no cover apparently is to an 18% shareholder who makes every decision it seems with very little appreciation for what can and does happen. I say that because I presume the ex Palace pros pipe up at some point. 'We are alive.' Yes the sun has come today as well. Yippee. 'It doesn't get much better.' I'm afraid it does, has, and if negligent risks weren't taken and some actual planning with people who know what they're doing was done, it would stay at a good level and not losing without scoring for months. You bet we stay up? How much? £10? £1,000? £10,000? Everything you possibly can. What are you basing this on? Tactical analysis of 13 players v squads of 25 or 20 prem players with goals throughout their front players or blind faith?

Why do topics always descend into personal attacks ? Ridiculous !!! The reality of our position is seriously dangerous but we’ve been there before - just 4 years ago we looked to be in a hopeless position —worse than now- yet still got out of it to finish 11th. The squad is far better now than it was then. Yes SP has made mistakes in appointing FdB and not buying another striker but he has brought in a stabilising manager in Roy and no doubt will get a striker in January. Benteke should be back in 3 games. The Bristol City result should be forgotten - just a reserve team ! Edited by essetwentyone (28 Oct 2017 7.48am)
