A big part of me just wants to fast forward to May, Parish announce he's stepping aside of football matters, Freedman takes the reigns of football matters and hires a manager who knows the score on a 4 year deal and we start again. We've been treated like pr&ts for far too long. 1 striker, writing off the first 3+ games every season and the biggest fvcking error in football hiring history because he had to take Zaha on his yacht and wait for Southampton to make their choice and wrote off Dyche in the process. All those managers are showing this what a monumental fvck up it is too.

The Campbell regret shows under stress he isn't suitable to make football calls and thinks we're stupid. Then telling fans on the train there's a free agent on the way. Yeah Steve, of course.

Stick to sponsorship deals, fanzones and attracting investors, which are actually major shareholders. Overhauling from tight in defence to dominating teams with £40 mil net is so wide of goal it'd be a throw in.

We'd have 2 if he didn't extend the ever present Delaney.

I honestly cannouwork out how someone can think of or justify 1 striker is a worthwhile risk.

Why do you think it took him five years to even think about installing mandatory features for disabled people? Because that's not what was important to him. Everything he's done since arriving here was to make himself look the bee's knees. He stumbled his way into the Premier League, especially after Dougie left, and now he's there he hasn't a clue what to do, so he's blaming all of it on everyone else he can. He thinks being a Palace fan makes him King of the Hill and doesn't think he needs to listen to anyone else. Any smart chairman would give their manager the money and say to them "This is our budget and if you want to use it to buy 5 center backs, you live or die by it." He should've thought through what tactics he wanted his team to play, got a man in who fit them, and then just let him get on with it. But no, he tried to be the scout, the players' agent, the coach AND the manager all at once, all while keeping his wallet as tightly closed as possible, because he thinks he knows best about everything. And that's the way it's going to carry on because he's got an ego bigger than his nose. This isn't Crystal Palace F.C. anymore, it's Steve Parish F.C.

Nail on the head is appropriate.

What I find depressing is that just because our second string loses a game to an in-form Championship side, all of the naysayers crawl out of the woodwork. Perhaps I missed them, but I didn't see posts of this ilk right after the Chelsea game.

Are we becoming like some top teams' fans, who, just because their team doesn't win the league, think that the sky is falling?

It's football.

Do you remember every summer when these concerns are raised you get hushed by the parish squad?

I got little satisfaction from Chelsea because I know when a situation is dire and that beating a more stationery back 4 without a striker is harder than a complacent back 3.

My god I hope we beat West Ham but this season feels like what solitary confinement must feel like.

Tis forever thus...it certainly smacks of masochism of the highest order...still...if it makes them happy!

But maybe we do. Unless you know the circumstances at the club it's just conjecture either way. People claim others have ignored FFP, is this true? If so, why can't we? If not why are people claiming it? The other two things I can't see how they are a problem, personally?

Not a risk at all, you can just hope he never gets injured.

Wait...

Oh no we're so so stupid. 1 left back was so successful I don't know how we're so dim.

Cheers, I will have to listen. Don't suppose anyone has a link do they?

My personal view is that we do have a better squad than burnley, but for some reason we have started the last two seasons diabolically, and surely there has to be a reason why. Is it the coaching, is Parish getting involved far to much and slowly turning into Simon Jordan's clone?

So confusing.

And teams like huddersfield are spending a fair penny, and look how Brighton are doing.

If we carry on like this, then we could end up doing a Derby.

Newcastle not doing too badly, either.

I find some of these comments astonishing and absurd.Clearly Parish has been very instrumental in the success of CPFC over the past several years and people have short memories - he has got far more right than wrong. For instance, I seem to recall Pulis was not keen to re-sign Zaha when things were not working at Man Utd. Who did the deal - yes, Parish and look at the player he has become and his value. Yes, clearly there was a problem with the appt of De Boer but to his credit he acted quickly - he knew and saw the problems at first hand and not just the 4 game loss.If he insists on taking a strong position on the sharks that are Agents, and thoroughly checking out players characters, I think that is just sensible due diligence/cost management in the best interests of the club as you would expect from any CEO.He, not alone, but with very significant input has transformed CPFC from what he inherited in 2010. For me, more of the same would not be so bad. Getting behind him, Roy and the players in difficult times is far more appropriate than dishing out a lot of at best half truths - thank goodness he appears to have a fairly thick skin.

Most of the above hits the nail on the head though I am still praying that there is a football God that will save us one last time. However how many times can you forgive complete stupidity. The calamatous nature of transfer windows and the revolving door of managers shows that under his stewardship the club has like under Simon Jordan become a monumental mess albeit a richer one of the face of it.

I think it is now clear that the God level of worship that Mr Parish gets is far from what is actual reality and that he is in the end a Brexit voting Barrow Boy from South East London who made a few quid up in the city back in the day. Nothing wrong with that but these people have their limits. Whilst he did form a consortium that saved us anybody who is in the world of business knows full well that businesses are not just miraculously saved at the 11th hour and that it was all a publicity stunt to get him and CPFC 2010 onside with the fans. His number is up and he has been found out. Whilst him stepping aside now will not actually help the club at all he does need to look at the long term vision and maybe bring in people who actually know what the hell they are doing on the football side of things. Huge shame all of this as we will probably be down there in the champ for 4-5 seasons before we come back up. Cheers Parish and your best mates Wrighty and Brighty. The three biggest bufoons in football.
