I echo the same sentiments as most on here – thought he was terrible for Sunderland, was always being pulled up on MoTD for lack of effort in defending until Allardyce came in. For that reason I thought he was an awful signing but since we had Allardyce it gave me hope but now he’s gone, it seems PVA has gone back to his shocking self.

Bring in Schlupp at left back and have RLC replace him in midfield.

I don't rate PVA at all. He can't shoot and his defending is haphazard at best. He was a lazy b****** at Sunderland and the sooner he is replaced the better for me.

Sorry PVA but your mistake for that goal last night was pub league level.

Never watched him for Sunderland besides his games against us, but he always played well in those games. For us Van aanholt hasn’t ever been as bad as he was yesterday but he was shocking.
I think someone hit the nail on the head- the manager go round is killing the cohesion of the team. Kelly and Pulis, pardew and cabaye, puncheon and pulis, FDB and riedewald, allardyce and Tomkins, PVA, benteke etc. The problem is that certain players are bought/perfect for certain systems and managers but don’t always adapt to change. Btw I know that some of those managers didn’t buy some of those players but they fit their respective systems well, or in riedewald’s case, would have.

That's it, isn't it. Everyone talking about dropping PvA but last game Schlupp played at LB he made PvA look like Roberto Carlos. Did I read somewhere that Riedewald can play LB?

The last time we were struggling at left back this badly we brought a kid in by the name of Nathaniel Clyne...remember him? Surely we have a kid in that position that we can give a run out to...as for Suoare he looked hopelessly out of sorts when he cam on (understandably)

What a waste of money he has turned out to be. Completely the wrong attitude for a Palace player and an ego that far exceeds his ability (you're not a baller mate). Awful positionally and prone to mistakes. Schlupp over him any day of the week, at least he seems to want to play for CPFC

Why a back pass? kick it out but a back pass with a striker between you and the goal.Just bad play. Our defenders should learn to pass always forwards away from our own goal which our players cant defend even from our own players.
Our bad players If in doubt kick it forward .
but are they playing attention to which is our goal

Maybe these highly-paid footballers need some coaching?

I think that was one of the times before last.

The last time we were struggling at left back we put Kelly there and pardewed him until he didn't know what day of the week it was.

Nice Roller though - isn't that what is important to these guys - turn up in a £250k car and then play toilet football.
I love Palace but I am beginning to hate football at the top level and what it all stands for - PVA is typical of the malaise and sadly we have others too.

To summarise...ever since I've been coming here:-

1. So-called 'quality' players join us, and end up being terrible.
2. So-called 'cr*p' players or 'cr*p' teams are somehow world-beaters when they play us.

I accept that there have been periods of exception to the above, but I maintain that these maxims generally have prevailed for the last 45 years!

Apologies for repeating something I've posted before. As a kid, I was watching yet another dire Palace display at Selhurst. A recent signing (I regret I can't remember who it was - possibly Iain Phillip or someone in that era?) got a right old slagging from a Palace fan in the Arthur Wait, along the lines of: "you're sh*t! How the f*ck did we sign you?!". To which a 'wag' behind me shouted: "Listen mate, if we had Pele down here, he would play like a c*nt!"
