A centre forward please. ...

we have a striker, he cost £32m and scored 17 goals last season.

we have another decent striker who is also injured but back soon. Come january we will have 1 top class proven PL striker, and 1 decent backup PL quality striker.

As I'm sure you realise our 32m striker, is injured and I won't go on about how ridiculous it is we have no back up, as I'm sure you realise that too. As for our decent backup, how long do you think he'll last once he starts playing again. And sadly I have a feeling we could be cut adrift by January. The teams we expected to struggle , Huddersfield, Brighton Newcastle, Watford, burnley, are doing well and looking good. The teams just above us, West ham, Bournemouth, stoke, everton will start picking up points soon. While we are loosing games because we don't have a centre forward. ..

i am well aware both are injured, but bentekkers wasnt injured, do we just keep on spending £20m on strikers everytime one gets injured? its not a sustainable model is it.

basically the clubs damned if it does & damned if it doesnt.

Well SP saying we should have kept Frazier Campbell was indicative for me. I like Frazier and he always gave everything, but not the kind of player we needed in my view. And as others have highlighted, poor scouting left us short of options in areas we are weak.

I can't believe you're seriously asking this question. If we had had a decent striker on the pitch yesterday we would have won comfortably. But we didn't so we didn't. That's what's letting us down.

Are you for real? You truly believe it's right for a team starting their 5th season in the premiership, to start with only one recognised striker, knowing that if he gets injured we're f****d. It was a huge gamble, and it's one that will probably get us relegated.

The problem scoring goals started well before Benteke got injured. The facts are that we have only scored in 2 of our last 14 PL games, and none in our last 7 away games, and Benteke played in 11 of those games. That really is appalling.

I know Parish and co saved us from administration etc etc, but the club seems to have been badly managed in recent years. We seem to have no scouting system to find these good players that other teams seem to unearth - we just seem to go for expensive big-name players who seem more interested in the money. We've never done well with big-money signings. We used to sign players from lower-leagues or reserve teams and make them good - Bright, Thomas, AJ, Gray, Wright etc. Same for managers - we did best when going for untried or relatively young managers - Coppell, Bruce, Freedman. Now we have a clueless 70 year old who couldn't motivate an England team to beat Iceland.

1)Not having a fit decent striker.

2)Having Frankie in charge for 4 matches.

3)Wilf getting injured in the Huddersfield match & being out until recently.

4)Sahko only getting fit until recently.

5)Not investing in a decent keeper in the summer.

6)Not being able to retain managers who do a great job for us.

7)Poor scouting system

It's a fair post apart from Roy. He's highly qualified at our level. England is a different proposition and it's not his fault for the shower of sh1t this summer and last summer and season actually.

Lewington admitted they couldn't get the players motivated for the Iceland game. If you can't do that for a Euros q-final, then what hope for a struggling side who cannot score a goal?

Roy is very generous and Palace are not a bad team.

However when I tuned in and saw it was 0-0 with 20 minutes to go I just knew it wasn't going to be a win.

With Jedinak and co Palace were not the greatest but had strength and character.

Warnock's description of us as softies is a bit strong but not far off the mark.

We could be relegated by January. "Come January" is not good enough at this level. Come "having a proper squad of players when the season starts" is what is missing here. Parish royally screwed up the transfer window with his last minute nonsense strategy, and now we have no strikers, its simple really. Sod January, I would like to have a fit striker now, Mr Parish, so that we aren't playing wingers up front every game.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.
