We have to hope that there is a plan behind our poor success rate. Is it worth putting good money - possibly with a Leicester bookmaker - on Palace to play in Europe in the 2020/2021 season? COYP

They had the best chance which Guaita saved excellently. We could not create anything coming forward as we didn’t get men forward in numbers and we had some poor players involved in many attacks like Macarthur, who ain’t no tricky winger let me tell you. Meyer didn’t do much either. Wilf was double teamed and basically crowded out and even when Andros came on with 20 mins left he barely touched it and it looks like he had been told to defend first, attack second. You have to get some men forward and take a chance if you want to win a game like that. Hodgson would rather not lose that game, than win it, it’s really as simple as that. We are boring, negative, defeatist and tactically naive at home under this manager. We have no plan b whatsoever, which is pardew esque. Trying out different formations and line ups in these last few games kinda sounds like a plan B to me. Just cuz it didn't work doesn't mean otherwise. (well actually it worked against Arsenal)

I thought Andros had a shot on target? He was trying to cut in from the right, turned past a couple of the Everton and then hit his shot, which was caught by Pickford. From the Upper Holmesdale it looked as though it was on target. Pickford caught it easily. It took a couple of bounces on the way and there may have been a deflection.

According to the stats on a couple of websites we have zero shots on target. We had 5 off target. We had 3 blocked shots and their keeper made zero saves.

Apparantly, only one team has done worse than us ever in Premier League for fewest goals in Open Play - unless we can rattle in some in the last game [Tweet Link]

Taking the attention away from Zaha at home when teams facing us know that he is the man is a difficult thing to do, plan b is no Zaha and we all know what tends to happen then. cannot get away from the fact that we are not good enough for any plan at home as it stands until Zaha sadly leaves because we will struggle to bring in players to help or make the most of him without considerable dosh, even then it will be a gamble.

..away from home the emphasis is more on what the home side want to do because they want to be in control depending on their standing, some teams do this and some don't purely because some take Zaha more seriously then others and then we have games where he isn't so on it anyway especially after the Watford treatment away, many home teams just believe they will eventually be too good for us ..like at Everton funnily enough even though it took two excellent players to sub on ...something we don't have!

To counter this there have been games at home this season where we have created and missed numerous chances, which was also met with derision.

The Times identified today that we have scored 14 goals at home and 29 away this season.

I agree most of our performances at home have been turgid, but in most we have created good opportunities which we haven’t converted. Just a quick look at the league games in 2019 demonstrate this, but also highlight we rarely dominate teams at home: Man city – forget it they were in a different league
