Not even remotely what I said. Two months of working on short one touch passing is gonna have benefits. Anyone else remember us being anywhere near as comfortable playing short, one touch triangle patterns in recent years?
From what I've heard it's more his manner and man management that caused the problems.
To say he has no clue is really only showing that it's you who's guilty of the crime.

Didn't enjoy the win against the Champions then ?

Yes very much, the same as last season when we beat them at the Bridge when Hennessey was MoM.

Speroni in goal lifted the crowd. I'm sorry, but it's true. The atmosphere definitely helped keep the players going and battling. I'm gonna have to look up the running stats for Cabaye, Macca, Luka, Schlupp and Andros. As for Wilf, he was gone after 60 and although Roy leaving him on worried me, it was the right move cos Chelsea were terrified of him and that meant Luiz had no effect coming through from deep.
Have to say the two months under FdB have definitely improved our quick, one touch, short passing game. We have had some excellent passages of play recently within Roy's structure

Anyone who can't see that obviously doesn't want to. Every club needs icons and leaders.

Why didn't we see any of that one touch passing when Frank was in charge? Admittedly we were ok against Burnley, but there still was no one touch passing that I recall in any of his games. FWIW I hope Roy perseveres with it.

playing our strongest central midfield helped. one touch football hasn't been JP's strongest card of late. Hope a spell on the bench helps him recover his form.

The atmosphere was back to how it used to be in the first few seasons of the premier league and how it was at wembley both times.

If only there was a way we could guarantee it was like that consistently.

I also agree that with Speroni and Wilf back in it really felt like a proper Palace team. Jules' impact on the other players and the supporters is massive.

Cahill and Luiz were constantly being dragged to the touchlines to cover Wilf and Andros. Our front two destroyed their defensive shape, which was notably to our advantage when McArthur made that "no look" pass to release Ward for the cross to Cabaye lurking in the 6-yard box for the goal. Yes, it took a few ricochets and a deflection to go in, but Chelsea were all at sea because no one in their defense knew who the f*** they were supposed to be marking.

If Benteke had been upfront, he would've given them a single point around which to structure their defense. Without it, Chelsea were an amorphous mess.

My favorite memory (other than the goals) was Cahill's salmon impression trying (successfully) to stop Wilf from shooting from close range after Wilf had jinked him off his feet. Hilarious!

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

Hopefully we can keep in touching distance of the bottom 6 and sign a goalie and pacy striker at Christmas. The movement up front was unbelievable, Benteke needs to take note!

We are (as I type) three points from safety. This after giving everyone a 7-game head start. We are better than Bournemouth, Stoke, West Ham, s***eon and Huddersfield; we just need to show it.

These are the stats from the game that explained how good the performance was. I have nicked this from CPFC's app but it makes for interesting reading.

There were plenty of positives to take from Crystal Palace's deserved win over Premier League Champions Chelsea on Saturday.
A determined, hard-fought, well-earned performance on the pitch and in the stands got the Eagles off the mark for 2017/18 with an own goal and a Wilfried Zaha winner closing the gap at the bottom of the table.

We've taken a look at some of the key numbers following the win in SE25:

- Palace covered more ground (114.51km) than Chelsea (113km), with Luka Milivojevic covering a massive 12.23km on his own. Marcos Alonso's 12.51km was the highest in the game.

- Andros completed 67 sprints against the Blues, only Alonso (71) did more. Townsend's 25 successful take ons (81% success rate) is a Premier League high.

- During a tireless display, Wilfried Zaha registered a jet-heeled 34.44km/h - the highest speed of any player involved at Selhurst on Saturday.

- The Eagles are the league leaders for interceptions made (121) and our 78% take on success rate is the highest in the division.

- No CPFC player had more touches (82), made more interceptions (6 ) or gained possession more times (15) than Yohan Cabaye did v CFC.

- Palace have created 58 chances so far this season, the 11th best total in the league.

- The Eagles' 51% duel success rate is the second best in the division - joint with Arsenal, Manchester City and Bournemouth. The 78% success in completing take ons is the joint-best, along with Liverpool.

- Christian Benteke has won more aerial duels (44) than any other player in the Premier League (52% success rate).

Where does RLC come in next week, bench or instead of Jimmy? It's an interesting one, the team has done so well but RLC is so good on the ball it's hard to look past him.
