Come on boys lets face it poor old Roy is on a hiding to nothing. He hopes he can turn things around over the next 30 odd games but none of us could name a manager now who could guarantee us getting enough points to avoid the drop even if that manager would join us. Roy will do all he can and the board will support him fail or succeed they have put themselves in a position where they have no choice . All we can do as fans is support him and the team and hope for the best.

On a personal level I agree with you - why would you..!! But in there are numerous examples of those that think different. Is it viable, sustainable and advisable - IMO - no. Will it all end in tears - yes for the smaller clubs like ours. But there are clearly those that see it differently. That's the wave we ride until it beaches and IMO it will - question is whether we want to ride the wave whilst it exists.

I thought what he said about Sako 'he's just a winger from Wolves' and even worse to say about a young player Ledapo 'he's never been near the first team he's only every scored non league goals. Talk about ruin a lads confidence these will almost certainly be our strikers for the next 2 months he should be building them up. The muppet sounds like he has thrown the towel in and just looking for excuses. he's a clown always has been always will be, god I'd love to see BFS back here sooner than later

The performances and results have been no better than the previous incumbent so why should he be treated any differently ? I backed him the day after he was appointed at 20/1 to be the next prem mgr to be sacked. I was hoping that might be the trigger for Palace to at least score a goal.

Very lucky to have him.

He left out the bit about him having been a fat waster and almost permanently injured and/or overweight for two years and picking up £55k a week. If I were the Chairman he wouldn't be paid until he sorted himself out.

I was also surprised and disappointed by how negatively Roy spoke about our players and our team. Either way, I think hes a good manager, and I think the stick he got after England's exit from EURO 2016 was undeserved. It was a poor performance but Iceland were one of the teams of the tournament in terms of team spirit and achievement above their ability, which is what these tournaments are all about, i.e Greece in 2004, that's part of the magic of it.

Next 5 games will tell us a lot. 2 or 3 wins and we are right back in amongst it. Roy has had bad luck. Our three best players have all missed games. He hasn't at any point had a first 11 to choose from and has had to play the three best teams in the league. The pundits are all saying we are dead and buried but I just can't see that at this stage, this is so early in the season. The only points we have really dropped that matter are the first 4 games. We win the reverse fixtures of those and start picking up points soon and we will be in with a shout. I like Roy. I like what he says, he is the most truthful manager I can remember in a presser other than Holloway. He does care and I'm sure the players will get on with him. I couldn't see anything changing with Frank, it was right to get rid because it was ultimately a matter of time before he went. Neither manager has been helped by our dealings in the window and our poor preparation for this season, but the difference is, Roy is coming in knowing the task at hand, knowing the squad he has, and knowing what it takes to make that squad successful.
