Something nice with the family instead of getting irate, irritable and downright pissed off.

Same as we usually do on such weekends - go & watch Dartford play in the National League South. Only been to 4 home games this season but have seen 4 wins & they've scored 16 times in those.

It's like the Ying to Palaces's Yang

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

USA vs. Panama in Concacaf qualifying. I will be torn between wanting USA to win - because it's my adopted home - and wanting Panama to win because I have a mate who owns a football team in Panama and I think they would be a 1990s Cameroon breath of fresh air in the finals.

Also, baseball playoffs: Astros vs. Red Sox. Stupid/biased scheduling has the Astros with two, mid-week, afternoon home games before going to Boston at the weekend. So much for home field advantage.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

Going to a family party on Saturday and will probably end up watching Lithuania v England on Sunday - despite it probably being boring.

Hey, Nobby, I used to watch 'The Darts' as a schoolkid back in the 70s. London bus to Bexleyheath then green bus (491? - can't remember) to the ground. Was there for the FA Cup tie when they were leading Plymouth Argyle 2-1 (then top of Div 3) with moments to go, then Paul Mariner (I think) somehow scored 2 late goals for a jammy 3-2 win. It then all kicked off between the fans, on the pitch and down Watling Street. That was a week after seeing Plymouth draw 3-3 at Selhurst in Div 3. On another message board there's a reminiscence about some Argyle nutters jumping out of the Whitehorse and dribbling a football up the pitch before tucking it away in the Holmesdale net. Happy days!

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Smarties are rarely held up as a nutritious snack regardless of whose foreskin you find them in.

Lol. There a lot of stories like that around the club - was there for a similar cup game against Port Vale a few seasons back which was interesting for all sorts of reasons. Only been going there for about 20 years now since I moved over this way but it’s all very different now they’ve a nice little stadium & a small but loyal fan base.

It’s usually a good day out.
