Good draw... Think I might go to this one. Ashton Gate is one of the few grounds I've never been to.

Good chance of progressing.

A much improved ground since 10 November 1973 (Palace's first league win of that season).

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

I'd like to think we've achieved a bit more than them and had a bit more excitement in the last 30 years though.

A couple of bankruptcies for starters

Bristol C haven't lost at home this season.
Got to keep a close watch on striker Famara Diedhiou bought for just over £5 Mill from Angers in France.

I live in Newport and work in Bristol, so will definitely be off to game.

Diedhiou rubbish apparently. Plenty of City fans at work, they reckon he's average at best. Lumbers about, knocked in a couple of goals, but already looks like they overpaid.

Bobby Reid far more likely to be the danger man

Yippee. As mentioned on the match thread Tues night perfect draw for me. See you in the away end on 24/25 Oct. One downer I have visited Ashton Gate five times in recentish years and never seen a win. Hopefully the officials will be wearing specs this time, Freddie Sears and all that. Here's hoping for one this time. COYP !!!

From what I gather, he is right-footed but has two good feet and is a box-to-box player who provides a lot of energy. He is an attacking midfielder who can play anywhere across the midfield and manager Lee Johnson has also played him as a striker. He might take a penalty if of course they are awarded one against us with the other possibility in this role being Diedhiou.

I am led to believe that Diedhiou is tall, powerful and quick and scored a lot of headed goals in France.

I wouldn't mind a bit of that rubbish at Palace at the moment.

Love a trip to my 2nd city, back to Ashton Gate where I used to live...next door to 'Nelson Mandela House'...the first ALDI I ever visited - no prices on anything...local little 5hits starting trouble...Clark's Pies...The Hen & Chicken 'Gentleman's Evenings'...Bedmo ASDA to see the big-eared boys (if you're feeling a little 'low')...Flying Frog sandwiches...the free phone box at the end of the road...and COUNTLESS pretty girls at Bower Ashton Campus. Ahh those were the days.

All those good things and yet STILL Gary Johnson pi55es me off being allowed back on the pitch after being sent to the stands.

Do you mean Lee Johnson ? Gary Johnson is his Dad who is manager of Cheltenham.

Lee Johnson's uncle, Steve(Gary's brother) used to manage East Grinstead Town in the Sussex County League and I think also Redhill in the same league.

Like father like son both been Bristol C manager. Maybe Warnock can pop over from Cardiff, as well as SJ ? Doubt whether they would be allowed in the director's box though !!

Of course ! Forgot about Gary Johnson at Bristol C !

I might be wrong but I think Gary Johnson took over the reins from Keith Millen who was 'Caretaker'. Think that Keith was also 'Caretaker' when Gary Johnson left.I also think that Gary signed Wayne Andrews on 'Loan' for the club !
