Some people are just not cut out to do some jobs and he has been at the club long enough to not be doing some of the silly things he still does which shows he shouldn't be having all the control he has. He was the one that cleared out the staff Sammy Lee included that should be up to the manager and director of football not him. I bet they edit a bunch of the interview some of it was not great listening with him side stepping alot and kissing Campbells ass Edited by grumpymort (17 Sep 2017 10.59pm) I admit I haven't heard any of the interview but clearly you believe he has lied to us all which is a very damaging accusation. As for the "Kiss his...." I shall treat this with contempt. Edited by Willo (17 Sep 2017 11.35pm)

Fcuk off with the Pulis sympathy. Now things are tough people are deliberately re-writing history. Pulis fcuked us over and this has been proven in a court of law. There is no doubt about it, this summer has been a mess. Poor recruitment in manager and players but I refuse to fall into the trap of saying Parish is out of his depth. We find ourselves in the premier league for our fifth season on the trot, that is amazing considering the journey we've been on. Tough times requires hearts of oak. Some of you lot have hearts of jelly. Look at Everton today. Spent bucket loads yet they're only four points better off. We can turn this round.

I'll have a proper listen tomorrow but the bits I've heard so far make me feel a little more warm and fuzzy.... and that's just Jel's soothing tones. Who's that Patrick fellow? I thought it was Henning Wehn to start with!

Lots of older fans who have been to far more games than him aren't afraid to criticise but I guess as they don't blow smoke up his arse on twitter they don't count I Am only 31 and I was raging when he said it. Good he went on there and he spoke openly and at length. However he steered the interview back to himself and his own.pity party that he doesn't get any praise for the things that go right and only gets criticism when the s*** hits the fan. Twice he did this and droned on and on about it. To say that people who criticise are usually 16 year old keyboard warriors whilst in some cases true is.still highly offensive and it will only lead to more of a divide within the already fractured fan base. Yes, we all want the team to do well but SP is not immune from criticism and for too long people who have been critical have been shouted down. So his comments won't help. Unforgivable imo were his comments almost sounding angry and fed up with being questioned over a lack of a back.up striker for Benteke. To spit his dummy out and say it is what it is deal with it.kind of attitude is disgusting really. Seething hearing him say that

Oh behave. We're criticising over 24 months, not a few months. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out to only have one recognised striker is a potential disaster waiting to happen. Benteke breaks his leg next week... then what??? Criminal to have no one else to call upon. And to be told it is what it is , suck it up and deal with it is bloody rude

Some slightly confusing and concerning comments. Sounds incredulous that anyone would ever criticise him. 'Thought about FDB too much'? I don't even know what that means. Concerned that Parish didn't seem to comprehend the criticism that we tried to change style at the time when we weren't able to spend. Clearing out backroom staff because we 'have too many people'??? Lamenting the departure of Campbell (repeatedly)? I appreciate that he was a hard worker and better than nothing, but come on. And saying there were 'problems with the deals' that stopped us getting strikers - but we didn't leave it too late to go after one? Clearly we left it too late, as we were on our arses once the deal collapsed. And a concerning answer to the question about whether he gets involved with first team matters. Ended up answering by literally demanding praise for good transfers. Very defensive overall (better than his Twitter outbursts) but doesn't strike me as a man coping well with the pressure. He knows that given the decent position we were in at the time Sam left, there's no way we should be joint relegation favourites now. I'm not at all part of the Parish out brigade, but everything I've liked about him previously - level-headedness, sensible decision-making, carefulness (sometimes to excess) - isn't being displayed currently.
