Everton have played Stoke, Chelsea, Tottenham, Man City and Man Utd. They beat Stoke at home and drew with Man City.

I think 4 points from those 5 games is a fair return.

But that's not relevant to the question. Everton aren't worse than us. They may not be meeting their own expectations but that's their business.
