Absolute shocking pre season preparation again. This is now the third season we have started poorly. Squad again does not look fit. Southampton looked fitter and stronger all round as did Huddersfield was shocked today when Sako came on! Looks more like a heavy weight boxer than a footballer.

Poor transfer window and far to many players kept that should have been moved out-Mitch, Lee, Kelly, Sako. Offer nothing to the squad.

Sahko looks more like he works the door at Crystals than a footballer.

This is why we are in big trouble. Our attacking options were Sako and Lee... Simply not good enough.

If the rumours about De Boer humiliating certain players are true then maybe we shouldn't be surprised that they lack confidence. A result in the next 3 games would do them the world of good nd might help the rest of us cheer up too.

Parish not knowing his limitations years ago and carrying on regardless. The buck stops with him as he so rightly said a few days ago.

Shocking how Joel Ward played today and punch needs to chase the ball when he loses it instead of waving himself arms in the air and sulking. WH needs to start catching and holding the ball when it is crossed across the box, I blame him for the goal, the ball was at an easy height for him but he pushed it out and they pushed it back in again, sadly into the net.

They, the players, should all give their wages each time they lose to charity and pay the entrance money to all the fans to say sorry for such a shambolic start. No matter what manager you play for you should show commitment and passion but most importantly personal pride. They are very well paid people, a lot of fans are struggling to get to games due to ticket prices, travel costs cost of living etc. Pride costs nothing but if you can't be bothered go away and play for someone else.

I'm fed up with it all.

No, we have others if we're willing to give them playing time. Not ideal, but worth a shot. If we ain't gonna get in an out of contract striker then Ladapo has to be on the bench IMO. You never know?

We shouldn't have sold Yannick Bolasie. He provided fizz and excitement in attack. Perhaps we could resign him in January if he's back to fitness.

We have not been a TEAM since he left. The fact he got injured long term at Everton is bad news for him. He should have stayed. Benteke has scored goals but I have never been a massive fan. But Yannick on one wing and Wilf on the other was the last time we were real threats and even an ok striker could feed off those two.

Always remembering walking from the Holmesdale to the Whitehorse end at half time!

If a premier league team is to progress they need to assess each player every year to evaluate whether they would be picked for a top ten team.
If not they need to be replaced and become squad players. We haven't done this; instead our transfer policy is based on firefighting (usually in the January window) and we end up with what we have now - an unbalanced team with too many players that should be classed as squad players in the staring line up. Ask yourself if Ward, McCarthur or Puncheon would make any other premier league first team....let alone Sako and Lee (both signed from Championship clubs). The revolving manager door doesn't help this of course.
It comes down to smart leadership - we don't have it.

Same happening to us as happened to Villa and Sunderland. Too many managers and coaches coming and going and too many new players bought in on big wages. New systems constantly being implemented, players unable to settle because of this. Unable to unload unwanted players, therefore unable to bring in players really wanted. Identity has been totally eroded and we are now drifting rudderless and looking totally shot. This doesn't even look like Crystal Palace anymore
Might have been better waiting till after Chelsea game to make a change if FdB still hadn't got a result. At least FdB was willing to give young players a chance to fill the gaps, cos Roy won't and we'll have to put up with more Sako and Chungy.

I agree with the Ladapo part... Whether he's up to the job or not he hasn't been given a chance.. He's our only other striker at the moment so should be on the bench.

We started well in 2015-16 and last season when we had seven points after five game.

Didn't Sunderland go down because of spending year on year, didn't spend much when Moyes came inand the reliance on Defoe blew up when he was put injured.

Villa bought players, (3 of them I can picture, the lb being decent), with the Benteke money that looked good at first but weren't. They had players who didn't give a sh-t. Lescott tweeting pictures of his new car hours after being thrashed and stuff. Actually Moyes bought him for Sunderland. How these cvnts steal a living is shocking.

We actually will have a strong 11 when all fit, but then we still have the reliance on one striker risk/scandal.
