Today's game was the worst performance I've seen in years !! It was as though nobody wanted to play - not even the fight they showed against Burnley last week !!
I'm probably in good company when I say it's not cheap coming to football , but made myself afford it .
I have seen some dire games since I first came up in 1969 but this takes the biscuit !!
I love the players dearly but attitude and willingness to work hard is serverly lacking !!
I love Palace and always will so stop whinging and get on with it !!!

That was a poor performance but it was a long way from being the worst performance for years. The first two games of the season were worse and the Sunderland debacle knocks even those into a cocked hat.

More worryingly it was worse than last week when we looked as if we might turn a corner.

I know that everyone thinks its just panick finger pointing as we have just lost again ,but my issue with benteke is hes so easy to mark up from a defenders point of view.
Hes no threat at all going forward and even one on one situations he never seems comfortable with. I cant beleive theres any defences out there thats actually worried about facing up to him except perhaps when we get a corner.
Their player LONG was an example of how to move into space and drag defenders about etc and cause defences problems.
I agree hes a luxury player that doesnt fit at the mo. Give me 2 players for the same money as him that will at least run about anyday and at least a midfielder may score using the space.

COYP

He's a lone centre forward playing isolated against 2 sometimes 3 centre halves. Where exactly should he go to avoid being marked?
Long is a totally different forward to Benteke and was someone, money permitting I would have loved us to go for in the window. To give us another option and if we played 2 up top they would compliment each other.
Teams don't have to play a high line against us as we keep gifting them early goals that allow them to sit deep and crowd their box and blot out crosses. We need to get the ball forward quickly while we're still on level terms, but we don't appear to have anyone capable of playing a defense splitting pass.
Personally Benteke is way down the list of players/managers/chairman I blame for or current predicament.

For me he always needed a wright or johnson type player with him, ships had more movement than him also a bigger ars* which meant defenders couldnt get round him we also had freedman which gave us more than one scorer, we need midfield to start scoring which allows teke to get in the box and play to his strengths
