I actually hope this is false. i honestly don't see why we need any signings for the rest of the season, unless Wilf or Benteke get injured. The squad we have is good enough to stay in this league under Roy.
With all due respect to Roy, he is not going to be our manager, probably much longer than this season. He's been given a two year deal basically so he's compensated for keeping us up this year and we'll get a new manager next season.
I always wanted Marco Silva out of all the candidates, but I honestly have no idea who we would go for next season.

We need another striker regardless. We potentially have the caraboa cup, the league and the fa cup to get through. With one man in front of goal. With the best will in the world he needs a rest and some back up.

All this smacks of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted. As I have made no secret I like Roy and have a good feeling about his appointment. However throwing the kitchen sink at this in January could be too late to reverse damage. One of these days our luck is going to run out!

To those slating Wilshire, he would walk into our midfield with the only player being RLC that is potentially better.

Not questioning his ability, just his application

We just canned a manager for having a bad attitude but are happy to get Wilshere in

Should have given that money to FDB last month and avoided this whole fiasco

If Jack Wilkshire is Roy's master plan than we are f***ed. Let's just hope this is tabloid bulls***

On a side note I would have been very happy with Woy 12 months ago but feel differently now. Not sure why - probably because I am a FDB fan!

Our spend under FDB would have been in this ballpark figure if the final deal on deadline day had happened. Jairo Riedewald £8million, Mamadou Sakho £26 million,Oumar Niasse £7million plus 2 Loan Fees. So probably £46 million. Plus there were rumoured to be agreed bids for Mangala, Mooy (He chose Huddersfield), Tete, Tosun and a couple of keepers one on loan, 2 of these had played for FDB before and chose to go elsewhere. This suggests to me money was available but they were not got overline, whose fault ? FDB, SP, Americans,DF - we will never know.

I think if SP was problem then he has met his match in Roy who may be a gentlemen but I suggest there is an iron fist in the velvet glove. He is no Yes man or pushover

Seems very unreliable, given parish tweets about budget used up.

Can only imagine there's truth in this if our American investors have decided to bank roll it.

ridiculous that they're backing Woy in this manner, finding another 40mil, but didn't pull their fingers out for FDB. And all this talk of clearing out the dead wood - the same dead wood that kicked up a fuss about FDBs methods and helped get him the sack. Utter shambles. if true

People believing this £40 mil net spend from the daily mirror and daily star? When is the daily sport going to give confirmation next to the woman with the t1ts bigger than Eric Pickles?

Not so. The first eleven may be good enough to win matches but the reserves are not especially in the striker department where we don't have any fit (experienced) cover for Benteke

Absolutely. We need cover at GK, RB and striker and those should be our priority. I was hoping we might get in one of the free agents as back up for Benteke, as we've left a space in the squad; perhaps we still will?

I don't think it's all that easy to bankroll a manager who goes AWOL during the transfer window.

If Niase had signed we would have spent £40 million this window, more if you include loan fees. So it looks to me FDB was backed

Yep. And nobody forced him to play a formation that required another god knows how many players when he could've waited 2-3 windows during his 3 year contract. Didn't want to hang about though. Why is that I wonder. Not big enough for him. Hang on, we're not big enough for his rushed target.
