Oh b*gger. I just started a thread on exactly the same theme, then I see you have done a better job on my point.

Understandably there are quite a lot of threads on a similar subject so I randomly chose somewhere to post. Sorry I stole your thunder there!

If Sam is out, then I think it probably only leaves us with three options:

1 - Hodgson: most likely choice by club (did he work with Sammy Lee in the England setup?)
2- Freedman/Sammy Lee: seems a risk, but possible
3 - Dyche: I don't think he seems happy at Burnley and may see us as an upgrade (albeit a very unstable one). Unlikely and also not an appointment I want.

Looking at who else is available and who is likely to come to us I can't really see any other options beyond these. I don't believe we'll go abroad again at this point and anyone without PL experience will probably be deemed too risky.

If it's Roy I will back him 100% as he has Palace connections, but I can't say it will fill me with confidence.

David Hopkin to return as Palace manager when Roy goes. Currently managing Livingstone in the Scottish Championship.

Let's keep the ball this season!

I look forward to Benteke taking the corners. Put your money on him to be the next prem manager to be sacked. Look at the run of games he has. 8 games no points and a third manager looks inevitable

If Woy is the one then Benteke will have to practice taking corners.
Please let this be a very sick joke, we would be far better off letting Sammy Lee take over, at least he has some passion.

What we need is manager who speaks coherent English as a first language.

At the end of the day ... I dont care who is the manager as long as:
1. They can get the players smiling and wanting to play football
2. Get us to score goals
3. Get us to stop leaking goals
4. Give the fans something to sing about
Nuff said.

I was petrified Dougie would be put in charge, so I tend to agree. It does bother me that we have another old gimmer that will no doubt retire and send us back round the merry-go-round.

I don't want us to drop down but if we ever did, I'd hire someone younger and less experienced and let them cut their teeth in the Championship. In the meantime, I'd take Roy over Dougie from a Premiership POV. Just a humble opinion.

So that rules out Hodgson and Freedman then.
