Not even sure how he could, considering a large part of it is his business. Nonsense from HOL'ers again.

Who is that? Footballing royalty and most decorated manager we've had at Palace FDB. Regardless of how things are going for him, you can't deny that it was seen as a real coup to get him.

I still see it as a real coup. And if we give him enough time and keep him for long enough I believe many on here that have been slating him will have to eat their words.

I don't think there was actually much of a queue to offer him a job. That doesn't mean he isn't a decent manager, but his stock was pretty low (and frankly it still is).
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Why do you compare us to Southampton, they have been in the top flight for years, apart from a blip a few years ago. I am afraid history does count, all the top 7 clubs have been top teams for many years, so will always end up near the top. We are currently punching above our weight, it won't last for long, unless a billionaire takes a fancy to us, as financially we cannot compete, that isn't Parishs fault. Blip? In 2009 Southampton were in League 1, were in Administration and had Pardew as manager, In 2011 they got promoted to the Championship and in 2012 they were promoted to the Premier League. In total they'd been out of the Premier League for 7 years and the only thing they had/have over us is the new ground which helped bankrupt them. So comparing us to them is a good yard stick.

Statistics show that the better and more decorated the player the worse he is as a manager. Maybe there are rare exceptions but none spring to mind. Certainly not Zidane or Pep who have yet to produce at a club that isn't the best in their league. As around about FdB's last 2 years at Ajax and you'll get a really bad review.

Yeah but it was the parent company's mismanagement and administration which meant the whole enterprise went into admin because the club was tied to it it had to follow. It wasn't anything to do with Southampton fc being badly managed. They've been impressive the whole time. And remember they bought Jose Fonte from us when we were in the championship and they were in league 1. It didn't stop there.
