Let me get this right. We have 1 space left. If we sign 2 older players in January, what are our options, if everything else stays the same? Could we include those 2 and give Mutch a job in the kitchen? Yes. If we have more than 25 eligible players, aged over 21, we can choose which 25 to name. If we have exactly 25, we'd have to name them all. Less than 25 and we could fill the spaces with free agents.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

But then Dan89 says something else. Still unclear then.

Willo always goes quite, when his in the wrong. Where have I been "In the wrong" ? I just said I wasn't aware of any new rule regarding players who MUST be named, indeed one of the links you provided went back a few years ! I need to digest what has been highlighted. At the end of the day if I am proved "Wrong" I am quite content to put my hands up just like I did when I said we would be relegated last season.I started a thread to highlight the fact that I was indeed wrong and I got upbraided for doing so !!!!

According to that latest Sagna link, we can now grab two freebies cos of releasing that other player the other day. so sagna is one, I hope the other is striker pizarro or lambert or Sen, then perhaps sign up a young under 21 GK. an experienced striker is a lot more essential than a 3rd GK I think, we can get a youth GK, a youth ST with any clout to play Tekkers role will be impossible.

na cant find it, im at work, I saw it earlier, it was within the sagna link that's now disappeared, the one where sagna is in man city blue jersey and wearing headphones, its now not within the external links below. anyway, within that article it says we had 24, now we released and paid off that player of ours, forgot his name, we have 23. so two spaces to fill.

It may be in players contract they have to be in the 25 man squard which I expect Wickham has in his. The problem is the Prem has different rules to the other engish leagues it's stupid.

Seems like if you don't have 25 over age players you might as well name them all just in case. But I've argued for a while,if you have more than 25 players over the age of 25, they should be available on a free transfer or for an auction if more than one club are interested. The selling club should have to honour their contract. Also, clubs should only be allowed to bring in a maximum of 5 senior players in each transfer window.
