Since I moved back from Bristol, all of that lot got our Support, even louder when we went behind (not so much with Sam tho). It's what I loved most about our team in my years of having a Season Ticket. Honest and pragmatic support for an honest set of players.

Now all we get are the inevitable moans and jeers at matches and relentless threads created by New HOL members such as Dan89. Statements like "you should point your anger to the board members and chairman" is exactly the entitlement people talk about. It's divisive and brings nothing positive. Maybe it's indicative of football supporters these days, or even society as a whole, but I don't like it, and it shows a total lack of class.

It's actually sickening to see and hear these 'fans' (not supporters) constantly moan, gripe, accuse, and bay for blood after 3 games, chipping away at what took us ages to build up as supporters. I find myself getting more angry at the booing fans than the team and it's off putting and makes match-day less enjoyable for supporters, what do they think it does to the players?!

Bang on the money. Very good post. That to me is the real definition of the "Palace Way" & it's not management that's taken it away from us.

Four players came in,Parish would have said do you want Sakho.?
He would of told him that Freedman was coming in for this new position.
If Frank fails so will Parish so he will endeavour to help.

The way you post Parish cannot win.

I think this 'new fans are to blame' rhetoric is wrong. I am relatively new on here but have been going since I were a nipper 35+ years ago (circumstances permitting). I don't moan and I'm optimistic FDB will work it out, starting in the land of the six-fingered this weekend.

however, some very established posters on this site DO moan extensively.

point shouldn't be to generalise about one group of fans/posters. that is as divisive as those endlessly moaning and seeing complicated things in the most binary of ways.

There's criticising or moaning on here and then there's booing at the earliest opportunity at home games.

Frank is up against it and some experimental or sheer bloody minded decisions have been foolish but booing in the first 2 home games can't help. It's not clear what the booing is all the time either. Should be left for when really needed, if that transpires.

Yet when super al was in charge steve parish gave him ample opportunities to reserve the clubs fortunes.

How the hell is bringing in Freedman undermining him?

He has openly said he is happy working with a sporting director (as he has in his other jobs) as it takes some of the pressure off & allows him to concentrate on footballing matters.

We are no worse off than we were this time last season (league wise) & have a better squad/infrastructure. Folk need to get some perspective ffs, Pardew had given us 6 months of dross prior to then & there was far less angst against the manager/chairman/board/players.

I don't think Frank has been unfairly criticised, Football is about results & this is a discussion forum, And with our recent history 26 wins at home out of 78 or something like that. I think a lot of genuine supporters are just fed up with things year after year, And i think the majority of the flack has been thrown in Parish's direction not Frank's. 3 games its ridiculous to considering sacking him, That not the way Parish works and his reputation is definitely on the line with this one. But your right enough is enough and time now to get behind the club

No it's not. New posters on here should spend time showing that they are at least 'of sound mind' before they start spouting at every given moment. What they're doing spits in the face of what the Selhurst support has worked years to build..and organically too, not manufactured like other teams with their paid flag wavers, club-sponsored 'tifos' and piped chanting.

If you're not moaning and point scoring at any given moment you will be recognised as such on here, and as such I'm not aiming this at you. It does however seem we do have a massive new load of 'fans' who 'get off' at winding people up and piling on pressure onto the current manager / chairman / whoever.

I'll still say it how it is, they're venomous gobs***es. I could be more personal and accusative about them and their lifestyles...or at least how they come across in their posts, but that would be crass and classless, so I'll leave it to them to prove me right.

You are right in what you say GPW, there are some older posters on here who vent their spleen, but I'd wager you wont find them doing it over and over, and will more likely have a balanced view of Supporting Palace, something a lot of new posters on here and Fans (not supporters) on matchday don't have a clue about.

All this claim of respect, what the same respect show to the young goalie they released that kind of respect. I thought the club was better than this. Whether the gk good enough or not. His future should of been sorted before the deadline and leaves a real bad taste in the mouth. Can imagine him going to his parents house so upset. No way to treat people.

Said it a few times, seen a side to Palace fans this season that is ugly. I wanted Pardew gone as much as the next guy but that affair had gone on for a little too long - those hounding de Boer out of the door really struggle with the meaning of "support" and the majority of them had the seed of toxic negativity before he even had his first training session, they'll deny it but this is the start that many of them wanted to see. Big difference between having an opinion, a style of football you like etc. And actually undermining the team you claim to support in their second home game at Selhurst.

Best fans in England? Do me a favour.

Sadly I completely agree with you. We are no different to the villa fans and their level of expectation or Sunderland fans or even the toxic behaviour of the Newcastle fans and guess what happened to them? Ring any bells? Where are my fellow palace fans who used to 'sing your hearts out for the lads' or the ones who where applauded by the Liverpool fans for the support we gave when we lost 9- 0? Nah mostly a new breed of supporter perhaps.

As the op has said no frigging respect. If any of the moaning namby pamby fans on here want to help the cause then I have a suggestion for you. Don't just leave it to the fanatics 'sing your hearts out for the lads'.

End of rant.

Gerry, I ranted first I believe on this thread and as a longstanding fan feel I have every right to have a moan when I see piss poor management. We should have started this season on a high and it has been a huge disappointment. The transfer window has been poor as well. I've never boo'd the team and supported every manager so long as I can remember and I will be supporting FDB on Sunday. But I would like to see something positive please. We are all armchair pundits who think we know it all and if we scrape a 0-0 draw on Sunday with a robust passionate performance I will be back on here singing their praises, but if we get beaten again with no passion, the players looking at each other clueless and Scott Dann playing centre forward and I not entitled to vent some frustration?

Booing at the games is going to be most felt by the players. If FdB then criticizes them in public for not having the confidence on the ball that came naturally to him, then that is poor man-management.
