The club have made a massive mistake leaving everything till the last day and Parish will be well aware of that. They have known for months that we needed another striker and our failure to do so plus the appointment of de Boer will probably cost us our Premier League status and Parish has to take the blame for that.

Ridiculous comment Not moaning about football would be indicative of not caring TBH. If you are a true fan than football or Palace is a massive part of your life and comments regarding poor transfer activity and not moving forward are very just even if people do post rage filled comments where their anger can haze over the genuine concerns they have. We have been without a PL quality GK since Mandana went into hiding which was so long ago I cannot remember when it was & one fit striker is pathetic at any level wether it be Christian Benteke or Calvin Andrew! I'm forever grateful with where we have come in the last 7 or so years and will always be down Selhurst cheering on Palace irregardless but my nature being a football fan is to keep dreaming and demanding progression... I thought that was the point?
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I am going to sit on the fence regarding the OP. But what are the options still available to us? Do we have a full squad now? Or can we bring in a couple of free agents? No idea who... but I think we can still bring in unattached players if we have room in the squad and we can find them.

Steve should step down. His a fraud, how long can he hide behind he saved the club. We have 2 areas to strengthen the side gk and competition for Benteke. We done neither. How can the parish lovers be so blinkered.

Yes, SP has been a great chairman and saved the club (for a modest investment with 3 other very rich people). But surely that must now be considered done and dusted. In my view the credit from that has expired. In looking at more recent events, two managers a season is becoming the norm. Why do SP's appointments just not seem to work out? He is the common denominator. When Pardew was sacked we were told it was time to "wind back the clock" and say goodbye to expansive football. After a shaky start under Sam, we became harder to beat and spanked Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. Safety was achieved and we could look forward to a new season of consolidation and growth without relegation worries. Sam leaves (it's seems not SP's fault but on his watch). After weeks of humming and haahing, SP appoints FDB who is new to the premiership and clearly wants to completely change the way we play. I can only assume with the blessing of SP. This style of play failed under Pardew and he had the the benefit of years of premiership experience. We don't know what assurances FDB was given about new signings. Now here we are, just into September, with no points, no goals scored, a very unpopular manager, a modest transfer window and many disgruntled fans. SP was the front man of the group that saved Palace and we will always be grateful. But a lot of bad things have happened on his watch. If he didn't have previous credit in the bank, he would be getting a lot more stick than he is now. I don't doubt that he is Palace through and through. But I do now doubt his ability to run the business side of the club and appoint and deal effectively with managers and oversee player recruitment. As a small club, in premiership terms, we need to be at our very best and sharpest in managerial and player recruitment. Perhaps SP would be better suited to be Chief Financial Officer and concentrate on income generation, budgets and marketing? Maybe the recruitment of Doogie is a subtle move in that direction. I don't believe in witch hunts and personal abuse. But it is not unreasonable, or disloyal, to hold any chairman to account irrespective of their previous achievements.

I missed the memo where it was changed and is now about moaning like a be-atch all the time.

The club needed proper competition/cover/replacement for WH and striker cover. It's been known for months, that's informed opinion not false supposition.

Do you remember when we had to play the large part of the season in the early nineties with a centre back (Chris Coleman) upfront? Start shooting practice Dann, but please HOLers don't complain.
