I should of added it was a shame we couldn't have kept our manager though.

I don't think its mistake to spend our budget on a player who so clearly made such an immense difference to our defence and keeper. I think it helps the whole team even when he was injured the guys performed better than they had in months. So for me I'm hugely happy we've signed him. Of course you can have the opinion that we should have spent money elsewhere but i'd point to the loan signings we have signed as adding extra quality. And i wouldn't right off the other players we might be signing as not good enough without them even kicking a ball. I would have loved us to sign Munir as well but not at the expense of missing out on Sakho. Martins would have probably been good as a centre back but I very much doubt he'd have lifted the whole team as i expect Sakhos signing will. Sakho has cost us £24m so thats literally one £15m centre half plus £9m change. That doesn't go far to fix all our problems and certainly wouldn't have accounted for the players you wanted. Most clubs sell to then strengthen and its really really good to see us keep hold of all our talent.. But yeah that means we have a budget thats then limited, Sakho i truly expect to raise everyones game, more so than Indis + Munir would have. Edited by Goldfiinger (31 Aug 2017 11.35pm) Every Palace fan is happy at the prospect of seeing him at Selhurst again and that includes me. To be honest, I just hope that above all the signings that have been made haven't been forced upon the manager or we're asking for trouble, if he's hired he should be backed or really how can we complain if/when his tactics don't have the desired affect but as I keep saying no one really knows exactly what has happened behind closed doors RE transfers. Personally I'm very disappointed that we weren't able to get a new number 1 as well because I genuinely think it has bit us on the backside too many times for us to of not learnt our lesson by now. Should've been as much a priority as Sakho has been and to me, as I've said, it appears we've shyed away from deals in all other areas all summer for the sake of signing Sakho.

No it won't be popular. For too long we have bought squad players that are no better than those we have. In Sakho, TFM and RLC they are clearly better than what we have already. Given that we have kept our best players we should be happy that we are in a stronger position player wise than when the window opened. I'm not sure where that theory comes from. Last summer we signed Benteke, Townsend, Tomkins & Mandanda. None of them were intended as squad players and were excellent additions for the first team but as we saw when it came to January last season we were desperate for players in other areas because the squad was so thin. And ended up spending over 40mil because of it. The reason I'm disappointed is because I believe it's the exact opposite of what you're saying, and we actually haven't learnt our lesson of previous years at all.

Hennessy with an organised defence in front of him and sakho re late last season was good enough. We can now do our homework and look to upgrade in January.

A club of our size will not have the luxury of being able to field 2 first teams of near equal ability.

Just have to hope Niasse is the business if the need arises but my concern is he doesn't seem a de Boer type signing at all.

If these 2 get announced, and Cabaye and Andros have stayed, I feel a lot better. Frank playing 4 at the back with Fosu-Mensah on the right and I'm ecstatic.

Very sad Rønnow deal did not happen. He is a briliant keeper mayby ewen more tallented then schmeichel. He is strong on line and in field, an good with the feed to. He will end up in PL because he is a perfect fit for the leauge. I am very sad about it and hope it will happen in January.
