At the risk of sounding clueless (which I have never done on this forum before!!) I have seen Townsend looking like one of the most motivated and spirited players on the pitch for us at times. I thought so vs Huddersfield and Ipswich in particular, coming on to play amongst a bunch of players that looked like they couldn't care less. He's added spark and looked keen. I'm not saying the deal would be a bad one, but apart from a period under Pardew where he seemed unhappy, I can't understand this reputation he has for looking like he doesn't care. But as I say, I know this a contrary opinion and that perhaps I don't frequent Palace games enough to formulate an opinion, but I just thought I'd throw it in that I like the guy and would actually be pretty sad to lose him.

Have to say I agree. He was the only one who looked anything like a threat on saturday. Works hard and can beat a player or two. Only criticism is I think he should play on the left. Sam played him there and he was much better at getting crosses in for benteke.

I really dont know how any club can do any business at these crazy prives

SSN making even less sense. Gray apparently available at £25m and Palace are interested. Bournemouth prepared to pay £20m. Leicester interested in Townsend at £25m. Townsend's people saying he won't be part of any swap deal. But why would Palace pay £25m for Gray anyway? Meanwhile nothing further on Sakho no 1. SSN still saying Sakho no 2 could go to Palace for £10m, even though HoL has reported tweets from Gold saying that he is going nowhere. Edited by peterg (30 Aug 2017 7.32pm)

SSN now saying Bournemouth have bid £25m, Leicester are interested, and Gray favours Bournemouth over Palace.

Why do SSN has this listed today as a "likely" transfer?
Always remembering walking from the Holmesdale to the Whitehorse end at half time! |
