If he's misunderstood the capabilities of our players then that's his fault. No, I think the problem is that he thought *he* was better than he was and instead of changing things safely and progressively he could be Billy Big Bollocks and transform us into Barcelona overnight. Pardew might have been a decent manager if he'd realised that that wasn't working and gone back to what would work; let us hope de Boer takes on board the bollocking he received today. that made me actually laugh out loud. thank you.

Hope this is so ... FDB has a lot to learn about the premier league, but he also has a lot to give. He can only learn through experiance...yes he may have to change his style, although you could argue that he sticks to his principals... he strikes me as an intelligent person and proberly finds the hostility towards himself at such an early stage difficult to understand, particularly those from the fans of the club he is Managing. I saw the pre-season game against Shalka and I thought we looked quite good. Agree the two homes games were very poor, but Liverpool away, we were unlucky to come away without a point. Ah at last, a really sensible post on this issue I totally agree PP.

That seems to be FdB's situation sorted at least for the time being. Now SP and his team can concentrate on the last 3 days of the transfer window and fill some of those important gaps. It would be fantastic if we could follow the turmoil of the last 3 weeks by signing Sakho + a decent goalkeeper + a back-up striker, get 4 or 6 points against Burnley & Southampton and beat Huddersfield in the League Cup (or whatever it's called now). Here's hoping!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Disagree. It could be getting to the stage where he's understanding that some of our players are not as good as he was led to believe. Like I've also said elsewhere, he'll walk before he's sacked. You really think so? Close to six million reasons that he won't do that!
Jackson.. Wan Bissaka.... Sansom.. Nicholas.. Cannon.. Guehi.... Zaha... Thomas.. Byrne... Holton.. Rogers.. that should do it.. |

It would be a surprise to me if he was signed for reasons which I won't go into. A Sakho who hasn't played at all this season and whose last appearance before injury was back in April. So you expect Sakho to come straight in to the side to cure all our ills ?

I'm more interested in what Sammy Lee thinks about this on going saga.Is he complicit in this fiasco or simply just a yes man? All this conjecture really gets us nowhere.

As I just posted in another FDB thread! If this is true - and I suspect that it is - then he has been told to forget his ideals and to manage the players we have and use them to the best of their ability.

What a good post. Let's get behind the club, the team and lets even give the manager another few weeks!
