He won 1 in his first 8, losing 6 including a 4-0 loss at home to Sunderland. Alan Pardew came into the season with the worst record in English football and continued that for the duration of the calendar year. What on earth is your point.

Good coaches usually don't make good managers, Sammy Lee, Steve McClaren, Iain Dowie...all rated as some of the best English coaches by those within the industry but shocking managers.
